RICE: rest, ice, compression, elevation.
Everyone knows this & if you go to a&e right now or to the drs this very minute they will advise this process for healing certain acute trauma conditions.
When I came out of the mainstream health & fitness industry & diverted into holistic natural health around 25yrs ago I came to understanding that something as simple as rice was really hindering the FULL healing process & can possibly lead to a lifetime of weakness depending on the severity of the injury.
The body is doing what it needs to do, stop interfering. Rice is an illusionary quick fix, it appears to be healed but it never fully does usually causing repeat injury weeks or months later, producing more scar tissue & restrictions to blood flow etc.
There is no quick fix, just allow the body to fully heal in its own time, inflammation is there for a reason, stop being impatient.
The original author of rice Dr Gabe Mirkin in 2015 publicly redacted it & insisted it needed to be revised, yet here we are years after, an extremely common practice within the medical industry, it takes years if not decades & quite often a whole generation of out of date doctors at the top of the pyramid to die off before the new research is accepted.
