BNI Worthing Thursday 🥓🍳☕

A fun and frantic morning full of laughs! 😂
Certainly not your normal rigid networking event!

On top of the fun and frolics we heard a fantastic speaker presentation from one of our newest members Samuel Sutherland of S2 Plumbing & Heating.

We heard how Sam is getting on growing his business and about his plans for the future.
A fantastic heating and plumbing engineer and a great guy to boot. 🧑🏻‍🔧

We also had an education slot from Simon Isherwood on how to use the right language in the right situation - thanks, Simon.

Our best speaker presentation was won by Paul McCarthy using his glasses as a clever prob and analogy to 'focusing' on your business and your goals. Well done, Paul 🤓

If you want to visit a high energy networking group who refer £1M worth of business to each other on an annual basis please get in touch to see if the seat for your industry is available - the DMs are always open and responded to quickly.

BNI Worthing Thursday 🥓🍳☕

It was an emotional one one Thursday...

Firstly Lee Jones of Connect Media gave not only gave us a fantastic 10 minutes speaker presentation taking us through the journey of Connect Media and LS Office supplies from start ups to the multi service brand it becomes today, but also a very fond farewell as after 12+ years Lee is saying goodbye to BNI.
Thank you Lee - a brilliant presentation and a wonderful service to this group, you will be missed 😘

And then it was El Presedenti's final meeting as our President aftet nearly 2 years in the role.
Matthew Cohen of Matthew Anthony Estate Agency you've been organised, funny, inspirational and never leaving us with a full moment. Thank you 🙏🏻

And we look forward to welcoming in the lovely Joanna Godden as the new President 🫡

Finally, we had the usual educational gold from our, now outgoing, educationer Paul McCarthy
So another much deserved thank you to Paul. 🎓

News of other group updates and roles and responsibilities to be confirmed this week! 🤫

This morning we heard a speaker presentation from Luke Potton of Target HR - talking us through his journey, via MBO, to becoming the Director and Managing Consultant.
Like also talked us through his team and the types of services and price points they offer as well as the target market.
Thanks Luke 👍🏻

Our weekly educator Paul McCarthy talked us through the skills of, and value in, 'scarcity' with products or services - Apple for example do this brilliantly. Thanks Paul.

Another busy, bustling and brilliant BNI meeting!

BNI Worthing Thursday 🥓🍳 ☕

Another high energy and dare I say potty mouthed 🙊 meeting this morning.
Must have been something in the coffee... But everyone in great spirits, having fun and really making the most of their 60 seconds introductions 💩

In addition to all the laughs, giggles, humour, bacon, eggs and sausages we also heard some important messages.

We had an education slot from Paul McCarthy
Who gave us some insight into RAS - Reticular Activating System - nerves in the brainstem that acts as a gatekeeper for your conscious mind. It blocks out background noise (like traffic) but alerts you to important things - which in business terms is your marketing, getting yourself seen and visible and in time you'll be seen 'everywhere'. Thanks Paul.

And we had a feature speaker presentation today from the lovely Joanna Godden, talking us through the past year, the highs, lows, news and updates of the past year at Sussex Cancer Fund - who are doing a fantastic job in and around Sussex supporting families effected by cancer - thanks Jo, you and your team are doing a wonderful job and the chapter and it's members is always proud to support you in anyway way they can...
A team 10k coming up in November to name one!

We also had a new member to 'knight'
Welcome into the group Chris Bowles from The Financial Planning Group 🤝 🗡️

Another busy, bustling and high energy morning with great food, good coffee and even better friendly relationships. 😘🙏🏻

This morning we heard a speaker presentation
from the energetic Harry Tulett of Burgess Flooring & Blinds Limited
Giving a 2025 month by month breakdown of the goings in his personal and business life - talking family, sports, blinds, flooring & more!

Burgess Flooring are expanding and have now TWO shops across this area - Worthing & Littlehampton, making them one of (if not the premier trades in their field for Worthing and West Sussex.
Thank you, Harry - blinding! 👍🪟

🧑🏻‍🎓 We also heard an education slot from stand in educator Elena Mura-Bates , providing us some helpful information and tips on how to grow our group and get some more visitors and members into the room.

BNI Worthing Thursday 🥓🍳 ☕

Thursday's meeting saw an interactive speaker presentation from Ingrid Sbongk-Sonderfeld
As a sports masseuse we were given both an education on the vigorous training Ingrid has gone through to get to where she is and some (quite literal) hands on training! 👐🏻

As we paired up and proceeded to (try) and give each other next and shoulder massages!

Which was highly entertaining to say the least!

Thank you Ingrid for a fun and educational morning! 😘

Continuing the education theme, we heard from our usual education slot hero Paul McCarthy who gave us some pointers on how to nail your 60 second presentation and make the most of your short time presenting. 🗣️

Oh yes - and the small matter of plenty of referrals, one-to-ones, testimonials and thank yous for the business going round!

BNI Worthing Thursday ☕🥓

Thursday's BNI saw a speaker presentation from Shayne Cuthbert of Alverstone Autos Ltd - hearing all about his love of cars, cats and what can only be described as a love hate relationship with french cars!
But what is clear to see for everyone is that Shayne believes in offering a fair service and at a fair price - unfortunately unlike a lot of car garages!
So if you want a great value MOT or service, with honest feedback please give Shayne a shout!

We also heard an education slot from Luke Potton covering for Paul McCarthy talking about productivity improvements and some of the great publications out there to help support this.

BNI Worthing is a BNI networking group that takes place on Thursday morning for breakfast, networking, learning and referral passing. Get involved!! Please message for more info.

BNI Worthing Thursday | 🥓☕🥐🫂

Today's speaker presentation was a debut presentation and from our youngest member... and what a brilliant job he did too.
Well done Scott Shadbolt of Inicio Solutions Limited
A proper polite, knowledgeable and driven young professional - painting and decorating, soon to be plastering and with a clear vision to move into skilled and accredited multi trades 👏

We also have a new member to celebrate - Sam at S2 Plumbing & Gas Limited
Who's initiation somehow became a read out of the rules whilst locked into a carry of President Matthew Cohen - as you do 🤷‍♂️

We also heard an education slot from Paul McCarthy around making space in your vacuum for important tasks and ideas.

Yet another fantastic morning of breakfast, networking, referrals and learning 😘
