"Taken aback, in a good way, by how open the group is, warts and all, about how things are really going."

Was a quote from one of our guests today, and that's what we're all about... Professional businesses networking and referral but with a personal touch.

Summed up well today by Simon Whitney delivering today's speaker presentation - talking about his life, family, hobbies, achievements, high, lows and everything (candidly) that has led him to where he is today. 💕

We also heard an education slot from Paul McCarthy helping us to understand the benefits of timing it right when launching new products/services and in if/when to launch them to existing customers, new customers or delve in to new markets entirely. 👨🏽‍🏫

Ingrid Sbongk-Sonderfeld won the best 1 minute speaker round with announcement of her new massage venue in Worthing Leisure centre - we look forward to hearing 2 mins on the new venue next week.

BNI Worthing Thursdays... ☕🥓🍳🗣️🤝

It was a top table mash up this morning with our regular President, Vice and secretary treasurer all away this week. 😱
(who authorised these annual leave requests!?)

But this well oiled, yet laid back machine seamlessly carried on without fuss. With
Mike Metters Joanna Godden and Simon Isherwood filling in superbly for Matt Cohen - Matthew Anthony Estate Agency , Luke Potton and Matt Sutton 👏🏽

Mike also delivered our 10 minute presentation talking us through a clever use of Miller Parris Solicitors LLP as an anagram of law news and updates. ⚖️

We also heard from our resident educator Paul McCarthy on how BNI rewards our activities and how we can use this to maximise our experience. 👨🏽‍🏫

Simon Whitney won the best 60 second speaker round - talking about website security with Madison Solutions via quality website code and high standards of hosting and backups. 🔐

Finally... and on a sad note 😢
After 5 years of membership we say goodbye to Liana Naylor - Inside Magazines 👋🏽, Liana has been one of the top contributers in her time, as well as a committee member - you will be sorely missed, Liana. But thank you for your valuable input, and we will hopefully see you again soon. 😘

BNI Thursday...

On Thursday we enjoyed another fun filled and energetic morning of coffee, breakfast, business insights, industry updates, education and plenty of referrals being passed.

We had the pleasure of the speaker presentation from
Annette Gardner - Home Staging - Decluttering -
Who showed us some incredible examples of before and after pictures from her home staging (getting homes ready for sale) and decluttering services. We were also taken on a journey through her childhood through to her careers and where she is right now.
A fascinating talk, thank you Annette. 👏🏽

We had a special guest education slot from Ingrid Sbongk-Sonderfeld - who gave us a health and sport focused quiz - Simon Whitney picked up the win and won an ironic bottle of prosecco 🍾

Laughs, energy, advice, coffee, claps, 1-2-1's, bacon, fancy transitions, tea, referrals, shock wins, props, emotions, education, eggs, juice, guests, banter, hash browns and more money being passed round the room in business than you can fit baked beans onto 25 plates.

Today we heard a 10 minute presentation from our BNI Area Director Tim Fifield on how to maximise our BNI experiences - a high energy and funny talk, whilst also helping everyone know and understand the benefits of BNI and how to get the best out of it.

As usual we had a great education slot from Paul McCarthy - fresh from the Acumen Law Business Convention - with advice on keeping on the importance of maintaining authenticity and the power of using animals as a gimmick in marketing. 😸

BNI Worthing Thursday...

Today we heard from Mike Bickers, Client Director - Konsileo, learning about his love for running, his family and his career in insurance - despite not ever wanting to be in insurance. 😅

Mike as a partner is supported by Konsileo and can offer all your business insurance needs with a friendly, personal but expertise touch. 🤝

We also heard an education slot from Paul McCarthy telling us a about ancient philosopher Confucius - who way ahead of his time recognised that wisdom came from reflection, imitation and experience - all things we learn and use in business to grow. 🧑‍🎓

Simon Whitney won the medal for best 60 second round... talking about his experience and fundraising exploits from Sundays London Marathon 👏 - and adding to his collection for the week.

Add some bacon, egg, sausages, toast, coffee and over £1million of yearly referrals and you have yourself a great networking event!

BNI Worthing Thursday...

This was the Paul McCarthy show 🎭

Along with his usual top quality education slot we also had the pleasure of the speaker presentation from Paul.

So what did we learn?

Education Slot:
• don't rely on one a single source of leads.
- nurture and build other source of leads generation.

Speaker Presentation:
We heard how Paul has adapted his business, grown his business (and businesses) but more importantly how he has grown and helped other businesses in risk role as a business coach.

Too many businesses are either going out of business, in danger of going out of business or are not growing as they should be - when sometimes it just needs a few tweaks to fix.

The growth metrics Paul was able to show against what is a different economic climate is outstanding.

Thats some of what we learned from Lee Jones at BNI Worthing yesterday, Director of Connect Media UK and L & S Office Supplies - a busy and successful man but always allows time for both his family and himself - karate being his release from the stresses of life.

A great 10 minutes from Lee showing us his balance of work and life alongside the amazing print and branding work Connect Media do for all your marketing materials.

We also heard from Luke Potton giving us an Education Slot around succession planning for your business.

Today we had a fantastic 10 minutes presentation from our in-house Sports Massuse
Ingrid Sbongk-Sonderfeld

Ingrid shared some heartfelt personal stories about her journey to this point of her career along with a practical session on how her clients can benefit from her skills, knowledge and experience.💆🏽‍♂️

The fact that many in room were giving glowing endorsements of Ingrid as clients goes to show her brilliant talents. Well done Ingrid.💞

Another bouncing and high energy meeting...
we also heard an education slot from Simon Whitney talking about not letting that 'little bitch' win! And how recognising it and creating small actionable tasks can help overcome procrastination, anxiety and even help with marathon training! 🙉

And Joanna Godden was the deserved winner of the 2 minute speaker award following a weekend of fundraising for the Sussex Cancer Fund Bluebell walk 👏🪻

Buzzing BNI Worthing 🐝

This morning we heard from Liana Catherine from Inside Magazines on the vast locations here publications go out to - along with the super modern software used to GPS track all publication deliveries.

For the education slot we heard from Paul McCarthy Paul McCarthy on the iceberg effect within businesses and all the things you don't necessarily see - all the working parts that makes a successful business function.

And Annette Gardner (last week's winner) voted Simon Whitney as the winner of the medal for the best 60 seconds - largely due to the huge effort of running over 17 miles to get here this morning - running from Peacehaven to Worthing and still arriving on time for our 06:30 start - as part of his London Marathon training.

Every week Worthing BNI never fails to successfully deliver a fun, busy and high energy event full of referrals and 121's.
A room full of people all using each other and giving each other business.
This really is BNI at its best...

Not a c**t! As we've been told.
