☀️ Thinking about going solar? Here's a little secret ... NOW is hands-down the best time to make the switch.

Longer days, sunnier weather, and a much smoother install before the summer rush kicks in. We've put together a quick video breaking down the 4 reasons spring beats every other season for solar and how the right timing can mean faster savings on your energy bills.

Have a watch of the teaser, then head over for the full breakdown.

105% annual bill reduction. £51,258 in lifetime savings.
One brand-new integrated solar roof in Worthing.

Here's how we made it happen. The homeowners came to us looking to make the most of a brand-new roof, so we designed and installed a bespoke 6.8kW integrated solar system with 16 panels built straight into both the East and West sides of the roof, capturing sun from morning right through to evening.

Paired with a Growatt battery, the system is set to wipe out their electricity bill and then some. And because the panels are integrated into the roof rather than mounted on top, the finish is beautifully seamless – solar that genuinely looks the part.

And the homeowners couldn't be happier with the result: "The Sopoco team were fantastic. They kept us updated at all times and were very organised in their planning and installation."

💡 Watt people say...

We always appreciate hearing back from our customers…

“Just had Solar panels fitted by this company. David and the team are a pleasure to deal with. Everything was clearly explained with no hidden extras. The price was also very competitive. More importantly David and Russ really listened to our requirements and provided excellent advice. We have 12 solar panels fitted on flat roofs (other companies wouldn’t consider flat roofs) with a Sigenergy battery. The app was clearly explained and has become quite addictive!

I felt completely reassured from the conversations with the team and wasn’t disappointed with the results.
I would definitely recommend Sopoco to family and friends.”

Thank you for your kind words, Kevin, and for the recommendation.

☀️ Powering a new purpose-built workshop/garage

We designed and installed a bespoke 10kW solar installation on a newly built purpose-built workshop/garage in Storrington designed to help power a busy working space with clean, reliable energy.

This project included 24 x 435W solar panels installed across east and west-facing roof slopes, helping to maximise generation throughout the day by capturing both morning and afternoon sun.

A great example of how solar can work just as well for commercial-style outbuildings as it does for homes, turning a workshop into a more efficient, energy-smart space.

☀️ How do solar panels actually work?

It’s one of the most common questions we get and the good news is, the science behind it is far simpler than most people think.

Solar panels use photovoltaic (PV) cells to turn daylight into electricity. When light hits the cells, it creates a flow of energy (DC electricity), which is then converted by an inverter into usable power for your home (AC electricity). From there, it’s either used straight away in your property or exported back to the grid.

And the best part? No fuel, no noise, no moving parts - just clean, reliable energy working in the background every day.

🏡 Future-proof your property with solar

Thinking ahead about your home’s value? Solar panels don’t just reduce your energy bills, they can also make your property more attractive when it comes time to sell.

With energy prices continuing to rise, homes with solar PV systems are standing out more in the market. A well-designed system can improve your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating and appeal to buyers who are looking for lower running costs and more sustainable living.

Whether you’re planning to move in a few years or simply want to invest wisely in your home, solar is one of those rare upgrades that works both now and in the future.

🔍 MYTH BUSTER: You can’t have solar panels on a flat roof

FACT: You absolutely can.
In fact, flat roofs are often a great option for solar, as the panels can be positioned at the ideal angle for performance. That said, there are a few important things to get right.

Most flat-roof systems are installed using a weighted mounting system rather than being fixed into the roof itself. Because of this, it’s really important the roof is checked to make sure it can safely take the additional load.

You also need to factor in spacing. Panels can’t sit right up to the edge of the roof, and there are minimum set-back distances (typically between 600mm and 1.5m). This can influence how many panels will physically fit on the space available. Row spacing is another key point: too tight and you risk shading between rows, which can reduce performance.

The good news? With the right design, flat roof systems can perform brilliantly and make excellent use of otherwise unused space.

If you’ve got a flat roof and are unsure what’s possible, we can design a system that’s fully compliant and built to deliver the energy you need.
