Another project done and dusted.
The second picture is part of one taken by the estate agents for sale pics, you can see the fireplace is quite, well boring, to me anyhow.
There was nothing wrong with it per se, but to me, it just disappeared into the wall.
The surround is oak, but had been given a rusty looking brown finish, not bad, just not our taste.
As you know, anything can be changed. So now it's had a face-lift by yours truly, and I love it.
The surround has been sanded, and oiled, and the rest painted black.
I feel its now warmer somehow.
