Sometimes the issues and improvements in a business are not really visible, and time is too precious to go looking for something you're not sure exists. ๐Ÿค”

That's why I love capturing all of your tasks, and putting them into pretty cool process maps, so everyone can see what's going on in their part of the business, but also what's happening around them - Breaking Down Silos! ๐Ÿ˜

Armed with these process maps, the best way is to walk through them collectively, and it's amazing how quickly we start to see things join up, see how the ideas start flowing when people realise where their tasks sit in the end-to-end process, and see people feeling EMPOWERED! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

We can see THE GOOD, THE NOT-SO GOOD, and THE OPPORTUNITIES... โ™ป

This may sound good to you!?, but I expect you're thinking you don't have time to do this, your people are really busy, and it could be really expensive. Also, you're not sure how long it will take. โ”

Depending on the complexity of someone's role, capturing the details of each task can take between 1-2 hours per person, that's all! ๐Ÿ‘

We now have a view of all the tasks currently being done in your business - pretty valuable data for any business! ๐Ÿ’ป

Next is the cool and fun stage - I go away and start to pull those tasks into an E2E Process Flow, and your business continues to run as normal. โœ

Once I've done the heavy lifting, to ensure things are flowing correctly, I'll facilitate a review with the relevant task owners, so they can see things are in the right place - again this takes 1-2hours. ๐Ÿ”Ž

So, we've now got detailed data on all the active tasks currently being worked, we've got a detailed process flow of how all of these tasks interact as part of the E2E process, and from this alone, the business is now more efficient with the unlocking of Silos and people have a better awareness of things happening beyond their own role. โœ…

Now we have the review workshop...
This is usually where the magic happens. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
The ideas start flowing out, the "ah, that's where my numbers comes from" type of thing, and the "I didn't know you needed this X that I create", and so on! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

We collectively uncover the gaps, we discuss the workarounds, we look at ideas that will improve a task or workflow, we celebrate the things that are working well and we "PROTECT" them. ๐Ÿ“ˆ

The link between Sales, Credit, Debt Teams, as well as the Customer is crucial...
However, a big number of companies don't have end to end lines of communications - i.e.; they are working in SILOS.

Credit Analysts accompanying Account Mangers on Customer visits adds a ton of value - added value to the business and added value to the Customer. "Team Work Makes The Dream Work". ๐Ÿงฉ

Sales Support, as the title suggests, supports the Sales Teams, but they are often siloed from speaking directly with Credit and Debt Teams, instead using the AM's as go-betweens with customer billing queries, setups, and credit/debt items.

This can, and should, be avoided where possible - Sales Teams should not be caught up with billing and credit queries... Given the Sales Teams more time to account manage and sell adds more value.

From a debt perspective - Debt Teams sometimes need to act fast to mitigate risk, AM's are usually in the field, so how good would it be for direct back and forth communication between Sales Support and Debt Teams to resolve issues or reduce risk??? Very effective right?

SO - Understanding what silos exist in your business is a quick win, coupled with sharing knowledge between departments, the day-to-day tasks and processes are thus improved, and making these simple steps in your business will help generate growth and revenue... Keep it simple, increase communication & unlock silos.

Strategies, Goals & Vision are the fuel that drives businesses forward, often ignited by the flame of Vigour, Passion & Confidence.
It's truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and determination that accompanies the start of any new endeavour. ๐Ÿ™‚

However, when we delve into the nitty-gritty details of executing the tasks critical to delivering the Strategy, even the simplest of things can sometimes trip us up. ๐Ÿค”

These seemingly insignificant stumbling blocks can have a profound impact on our goals and tarnish the Vision we've set out to achieve. โ›”

I created this high-level overview, to show how information can flow through the business, and initiating the work that needs to be done.
It's important to recognise that any task, regardless of its size, has the potential to unravel our plans.

Consider the scenario of one person grappling with a process and resorting to a 'Workaround' to overcome the challenges.
(Very Likely it isn't limited to only one persons processes)

Unfortunately, such workarounds often lead to delays, cascading effects on other tasks, and ultimately consume more of our precious time. โŒ›

The question arises: How many of these misfired tasks does it take to jeopardise the success of our Strategy or necessitate adjustments to compensate for the setbacks?

Furthermore, we must not overlook the impact on staff morale. ๐Ÿ—ฃ
These dedicated individuals have aligned themselves with the Goals and Vision, perhaps even with the promise of pay raises and bonuses on the line. However, when they find themselves falling short of their own goals due to these roadblocks, it can be disheartening.

To address these challenges, I propose a simple solution: a thorough review of your current processes. ๐Ÿš€

By identifying and filling in process gaps, eliminating redundant tasks, and refining those in need of improvement, we can prevent these seemingly inconsequential issues from rippling across the organisation.
It's time to put an end to these own goals.

By prioritising process improvement and fostering a supportive environment, we can minimise the chances of tasks going astray. This will not only safeguard the successful ex*****on of our Strategy but also nurture high staff morale, enabling everyone to work harmoniously towards achieving their individual and collective objectives. โœ…
