It is with great sadness that we confirm the tragic and sudden death of Neil Eccleston (known to all of us as Echo) who passed away in the early hours of Monday morning following a short stay in Glan Clwyd hospital.
Echo had worked for the company for 27 years and for most of that time was located at Bretton where he managed the site and organised and ran the yard, Skips, Hook & Tipper Fleet.
He worked with Alan Hassall the founder of the company when the business was in its infancy
Echo’s hard work and contributions to the business in the early days helped to shape and mould the company and his tireless efforts were greatly appreciated and will be remembered for ever .
Over the past eight years he was located at the company’s recycling centre in Deeside where he oversaw the onsite operations.
If you did not know Echo he was ‘’old school’’ .He would call a spade a spade and was always upbeat and enthusiastic and his well know phrase which he would use whenever asked to do something was ‘’not a problem, sorted’’ Sometimes not even Echo believed that was the case but he would always find a solution and get the job done.
He was very positive with his work ethic, and his glass was always three quarters full. He was always happy , cheerful ,respectful and polite.
He loved his family and was so proud of them and his grandchildren and he would always show photographs of them and have a tale to tell whenever you met with him .
He was a staunch Liverpool FC supporter and used to love talking about football especially if Liverpool had won and even more so if Manchester United had lost .
Simon, Echo’s son worked with him at Deeside and has been with the company for 18 years. He will take over responsibility for operations on site in the absence of his father.
Characters like Echo don’t come along very often but when they do they leave a lasting legacy behind them.
Echo has done that.
May he rest in peace.
On behalf of everyone at ASH Group our thoughts and prayers are with his family as this very sad time .
