This is our second year apprentice Kai, catnip for the ladies, twice voted Core 7’s most handsome employee and voted most likely to marry a cougar. He’s an excellent apprentice, keen to learn, he gets hands on with every job. It’s so hard to find good apprentices, with the right aptitude, but Kai has knocked it out the park! We do training on heating system wiring, fault finding, sets and bends on our AM2 training rig built by our team, at our office. We are really proud of our people, we pride ourselves on our integrity and duty to our client. As technical trades we are in a position of trust with our clients, to ensure we do what is right for them. We take it seriously, we understand the privilege. Look at this… this is why you use us, you use local solar installers, who take pride in their work, this is neat and sexy is it not? If you use a national installer… well…. I wish you luck friend, you’re going to need it. You see the big companies (including octopus) sub contract their installs, to the lowest bidder. You still pay top money, but get the cheapest installer from hull or Orkney! And all the money in between the installer cost and what you pay, is their profit, to pay mangers, and managers of managers, and share holders… you don’t get better service, you don’t get a better install, and you don’t get a company you can easily call if there is any problems….. so, for the love of god, even if you don’t use us, JUST USE LOCAL! 🤦‍♂️ not “solar quotes online” or some other B.S! Geeze come on people WAKE UP 🙄😑

We’ve been quiet recently, cause we’ve been busy, but let’s get some photos of cool stuff up! Check out this installation of a Tesla power wall (politics aside, it’s a good product, but no 1 person needs 1 Trillion $$$$) it does look cool, offers off grid whole home backup, so if the power drops out, this will seamlessly take over. So this is the second charger on the same site that had burnt out and melted. EO chargers, now out of warranty (not supplied or fitted by us), burnt out at the connections where they meet the plug. EO closed the app and back office software these were being managed on, which means the app stopped working too. Then they started burning out. Is it engineered failure? Are brands deliberately closing support and back office to force users to upgrade chargers? I’m not sure, but there are only certain brands we will supply and fit (EO is not on our list) because they have been reliable with good customer support, I still say is our GO TO charger, they have always been good with support. Cheap doesn’t usually offer longevity in a product. There are lots of cheap chargers coming to market, but it might be worth making sure your building insurance is robust and you have a pot set aside for repairs if a cheap charger is your priority. ⚡️

Our apprentice Kai learning about wiring heating systems, S plan and Y plan on our training rig. Built for AM2 practice, heating controls and fault finding, to keep our crew skills fresh and up to date. Heating wiring is something electricians often avoid, but we don’t! Check out this coffee trailer we worked on. The client wanted a silent power system, not a petrol generator whirring away while serving coffee, so we calculated out the loads, worked out a battery system that’s off grid! They can charge the battery at home, at night during off peak (7p per kw) then use the system for the day. No fuel costs, no noise, no getting permission from site owners to run a generator… it’s all self contained in a cupboard. Read the clients glowing review! All the best with the new business.

3 of our team undertook the Aico approved installer course last week, to keep our fire safety and fire alarm knowledge tip top. are our go to fire alarm brand for domestic installation.
