The mobile library van will be next in the village on Monday 6th July. 10am in the Kings Arms car park. In the meantime here is some information on the services they have got to offer. The next meeting of North Duffield Parish Council will be held on Thursday 11th June 2026, 7pm in the Methodist Chapel Schoolroom due to a chapel event taking place on 4th June.
There is still a vacancy available for a Parish Councillor. If interested, please either come along to the next meeting or contact the clerk for further details. Email: [email protected]

Reminder:
A new household waste recycling centre (HWRC) registration scheme is now in operation across the county Register to use household waste recycling centres.

From Monday 27 April 2026, you need to register to use the household waste recycling centres in North Yorkshire.

Mylen Leah Solar Farm is a proposed new solar farm located between the villages of Seaton Ross, Melbourne, Laytham, Ellerton, East Cottingwith and Foggathorpe, in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

From Monday 27 April, residents will need to register before visiting any of our household waste recycling centres.

Registration is free, takes a couple of minutes, and lasts for three years.

Residents can register online from Monday 27 April and use the centres straight away. Nothing will be sent in the post, and staff will check vehicle number plates on arrival.

Owners of commercial‑like vehicles will also be able to make up to 12 free visits per year to dispose of their own household waste once registered. Commercial-like vehicle registrations will last for one year.

The Village Hall committee have notified the Parish Council that unfortunately the Salvation Army have removed their recycling bin from the village hall car park and it is not returning. Please can we remind residents not to leave unwanted clothing etc in the car park (either on the floor or in the other bins). There is a clothing recycling bin in the car park at Bubwith Leisure Centre and at some supermarkets such as Morrisons in Selby. Many thanks.

Some residents have been having trouble registering comments on the NYC planning portal. For those having problems, if you empty your cache on your computers you should be able to submit comments. Alternatively email your comments directly to [email protected]

Search for Planning Applications and Appeals by keyword, application reference, postcode or by a single line of an address.
