Happy international Women's day to all!

We are busy embracing this years theme with our interactive sessions ‘How to embrace equity in the workplace by being a better ally’’. Our virtual workshops help companies to provide the skills to their employees to be able to:

- Understand what it means to be an ally to women in the workplace so that they can do better when it comes to supporting career opportunities for women.

- Understand the barriers for women’s visibility and career progression so that they can fully understand the bias that is experienced on a daily basis and can start to challenge the bias and assumptions being made.

- Learn practical skills and strategies so that they can implement straight away and drive positive change in the organisation.

We are continuing to deliver these sessions over the next couple of weeks.

However this isn't where IWD23 ends, its only the start and we would be delighted to support you and your company on the journey.

International Women's Day is just the beginning...

Sharing the below feedback from an attendee of our previous IWD event. It is always inspiring to hear such wonderful feedback and knowing the long lasting impact we make to your company, culture and gender pay gap are something we can both be proud of.

A favourite workshop that companies open up for their female staff (middle managers / team leaders) is Step into Self Promotion.

A lunch & learn session which focuses on the importance of image and visibility in career progression and how to do this in your own way. Understanding how to use self promotion to further your career and how you might be holding yourself back. This not only builds confidence in your employees but also encourages a company culture that expects their people to showcase how good they are and strive for career progression. It also results in your female staff being more inclined and supported to raise their profile and go for the next promotions into senior leadership.

There is plenty of research, including our founder Gemma’s own white paper, that suggests that the lack of self promotion from women is impacting on gender parity in the workplace. Women hold back for many reasons and most of the time they don’t realise it.

There is an increasing pressure on companies to reduce the gender pay gap by creating inclusive recruitment and internal promotion processes yet this is a dual responsibility. It is also time for women to step up and stand out too.

This workshop results in women owning their expertise and building a self promotion strategy for themselves. Book a call now to discuss how this will benefit your organisation or to discuss other training that Gemma can provide that will not only increase performance but will instil a new sense of confidence and ambition in your people.

SELF PROMOTION IS NOT A DIRTY WORD

In fact research has proved that it is critical to getting ahead. Being more visible is more important that performance alone.

How many times have you as a female leader, avoided telling your boss about that genius idea you implemented? Or the amazing job YOU did on a big project?

Because we don't showcase our expertise it isn't always as visible to senior staff.

Which means we are often overwhelmed trying to compensate with working even harder to get noticed...but what if you don't?

What is needed - Strategic self promotion!

Here’s the thing; I’m not talking the cringeworthy type of self promotion that involves the irritating ‘look at me’ attitude. Instead, strategically managing your self promotion using your strengths and ensuring your organisation can clearly see (and reward you!) for the value that you bring to the company.

I’m not saying that self promotion makes your job performance redundant, but without promoting yourself, you’re going to find it difficult to get to the next level.

Ready to get the recognition and rewards you deserve without feeling pushy, egocentric or awkward? Get in touch and let's have a chat about you achieving your visibility and confidence goals with ease.

What are up to next Friday?

Would you like to join me and the amazing .uk for an extra special day of inspiring yoga and transformational coaching in an awesome venue with incredible food and company?

'It's Your Time' Yoga and Personal Development Coaching Event Friday 10th March 2023 in York.

As it's International Women's Day (IWD) next week, we are going to celebrate by bringing together a group of amazing women. We'll give you the skills, time and space, so that you can build renewed confidence and motivation, ready to take inspired action for the rest of 2023, making this your best year yet! 🎉

It gets even better…

As part of International Women's Day, we have gained the support from two companies, who have kindly agreed to part-fund 5 places (there's just 2 places left now) so I didn't want you to miss out if you have been considering attending one of our events in the past and have to fund this yourself.

I guarantee that not only will you feel great after a full day with us and other awesome women, you will leave with a new fire in your belly to achieve those big goals you keep putting off!

We still have a few places left for any organisation that wants to recognise and reward their female employees so that they get some time and space away from the office to focus on their own development and come back to work with a renewed motivation to inspire others and get things done.

From one of our previous participants;

“The event exceeded my expectations, it was so well facilitated. Gemma and Louise were both really supportive and created a fantastic environment for me to work on my own personal development. Loved it, thank you so much”

Hope to see you there!

How can we close the gender gap in Engineering and technology?

Although these stats are for Higher education it highlights that the UK’s engineering sector is considerably less diverse than the general population. Meaning many groups are underrepresented in the workforce. With diversity of talent, comes the lack of diversity of thought that is needed to solve the challenges and drive the innovations of the future.

Women continue to be underrepresented in engineering but by providing opportunities and promoting women into senior positions, these women can be beacons of light to inspire and lead the way for further female engineers.

Why creating a culture where self-promotion is encourage in your organisation will bring many benefits to the workplace for diversity, equity, inclusion and the bottom line.

Employers must start to look internally at their own policies and procedures and see how they may be discriminating and holding women back. They can remove any barriers to training and the culture to support women into senior positions. This may also include working with women on their own personal barriers that might be holding them back. It is important to note that this is not a ‘blame game’.

This paper has been written with one purpose in mind - to help ALL women achieve their potential and support ALL companies to benefit from diversity at the top.

Its being referred to as the The Great Breakup - As women leave their leadership positions in the highest rates seen.

It was recently reported in the Women in the Workplace report from McKinsey and LeanIn.org shows that 10.5 % of women leaders (9% of men) left their positions in 2021 compared to roughly 8.25% of women leaders in 2017 (8% of men).

Why are women leaving?
It is attributed that women are leaving these positions due to lack of opportunities, advancement and support.

We can help!
Through a powerful and bespoke blend of consulting, training and leadership coaching, No More Hiding will help your organisation to recognise the talent you already have; to inspire, develop and empower female employees with the potential to be great leaders within your workplace.

On this Galentines... We share with you how much our sessions help female colleagues / employees

Organisations are missing out on some of the best leaders because they fail to notice who they already have or their key players don’t have the same desire to showcase their talents.

By providing a platform for them to stop hiding, many more will step into their own spotlight whilst understanding the importance of visibility and promotion for career progression and the organisation’s role in gender parity.

Gemma’s coaching and training is centred around the importance of self promotion for female leaders. She helps women own their expertise and build a self promotion strategy to increase visibility so that they are securing more senior positions at the table. This is a win win for everyone; your female employees, your gender parity in the workplace and the drive and direction of your company.

With our ‘RISE’ leadership framework we help organisations identify, develop and retain their top female talent and build a strong pipeline.

This is through private and group coaching, in house training and consultancy, to empower their female employees to step up, go for the next level promotions, showcase themselves and their company through purposeful networking; building solid connections; increased performance; and, creating opportunities so that they can be confident at the next level.”

Building confidence in self promotion and your female leaders.
