Which Pond Pump Do You Need?
With so many pond pumps available, one of the most common questions we are asked is 'what type of pump do i need?!' Here's a quick guide to help you choose the best one for the job!
Filter Pumps
These are the backbone of a healthy pond! Designed to pump water to your filter, they help keep your pond clean, healthy and clear. They're built to handle small bits of debris without clogging, and are usually the go-to type of pump for any fish pond.
Fountain Pumps
Fountain pumps are perfect for creating decorative water features while helping to circulate and oxygenate your pond water. Most come with interchangeable fountain heads so you can choose the look you like best, and many come with a secondary outlet so they can be used to run a small waterfall or seperate water feature at the same time as providing a fountain display.
Feature Pumps
Ideal for waterfalls, streams and ornamental water features. These pumps are designed to provide a smooth, continuous flow of water and are generally used in clean water applications where appearance is the priority.
High Pressure Pumps
Need to push water further or higher? High pressure pumps are the answer. They're perfect for higher waterfalls, longer pipe runs or more demanding water features where a standard pump just won't do the job.
Solar Fountain Pumps
Looking for a simple, eco-friendly option? Our range of solar fountain pumps is great for adding a small decorative fountain to your pond without the need for mains electricity. They're quick to set up and ideal for smaller ponds or wildlife ponds.
Before choosing a pump, think about what you want it to do. Is it for filtration? A fountain display? A waterfall? Or a combination of jobs? Picking the right pump from the start will help keep your pond looking its best.
