So true

So true

In recent political discourse, care work has been dismissed as "unskilled" by individuals who, ironically, rely on the very services they belittle.

The harmful narrative circulating the press today ignores the vast range of expertise, emotional intelligence, and resilience required to provide quality care.

Carers do not merely "help" people; they transform lives.

Care work is a calling, a lifeline, and an act of profound humanity. Every day, care workers bring comfort, dignity, and hope to those who need it most. They hold the hands of the vulnerable, offer reassurance in moments of fear, and ensure that people are seen, heard, and valued.

This is skilled work. It requires patience, medical knowledge, adaptability, and emotional intelligence that cannot be taught in a classroom alone. Care workers manage medications, respond to emergencies, and navigate complex conditions—but more importantly, they provide warmth, connection, and stability to those who might otherwise feel alone.

Without these dedicated professionals, thousands would struggle to live independently, facing isolation and uncertainty.

Yet despite their immeasurable impact, care workers are too often under appreciated.

Their compassion should be celebrated, not dismissed.

It is time the world acknowledged that.
