Contracts Manager
(Forestry & Arboriculture)

This full-time position involves overseeing contract management, project delivery, and compliance across various environmental and landscaping projects.

The ideal candidate will have a background in forestry or arboriculture, project management, and strong negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:
🔸Contract Management: Oversee all stages of contracts, including drafting, review, negotiation, and compliance with industry standards.
🔸Project Oversight: Manage tree management, land clearing, and landscaping projects, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
🔸Risk Management: Identify potential risks in contracts and projects, implementing mitigation strategies.
🔸Financial Management: Handle project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and reporting progress to stakeholders.
🔸Supplier and Contractor Management: Ensure subcontractors and suppliers adhere to timelines and quality standards.
🔸Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure projects meet safety, health, environmental, and industry standards.
🔸Client Liaison: Build strong client relationships and manage expectations effectively.
🔸Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed project and contract records, providing updates to senior management.
🔸Business Development: Identify new opportunities and cultivate client relationships to support business growth.

Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in contract management, preferably in forestry, arboriculture, or construction.
* Knowledge of environmental laws, industry regulations, and health & safety standards.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills:
* Experience with environmental or sustainability projects.
* Knowledge of tree care, planting, and land management practices.

Lewis Tree Surgery York are a family run business with a small, friendly team covering York and surrounding areas. We are dedicated to providing outstanding service to our customers.
We’re now looking for an arborist/climber able to carry out a range of tree works including felling, crown lifting and reductions in both domestic and commercial settings.
Preferred Skills
Climbing, tree pruning and related operations with a keen eye towards natural aesthetics.
A positive attitude and good communication skills.
Be highly motivated with the ability to work to a high standard in both work quality and maintaining a safe work environment.
Experience in a similar position preferable.
A full clean driving license.
NPTC qualification up-to and including CS41 ( 309 ), NPTC , Brushwood Chipper.
IPAF MEWP - Desirable but not essential
What you will get:
Benefit package to include - A competitive salary dependent on experience, further development and training (after a successful 3 months probationary period), 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays), company pension
Salary negotiable depending upon experience.
Must have own transport due to rural location of the premises.
Role reports directly to owner/manager, Craig Young.

Looking to take on climbing arborists, or climbers who want to learn the machinery side of the job but still climb aswell. We can provide training if you currently are working in other areas of arboriculture but are wanting to persue a career in utility arb.

Either self employed or full time positions available.

Top rates of pay, all PPE/training climbing
equipment provided plus a company uniform.

Must be in a commutable distance of our yard based in Wakefield (WF4)
