*** JOB VACANCY: FACILITIES MANAGER- ROY ST. JOHN PLAYING FIELD & PROGRESS PARK ***
The Ministry of Education, Youth, Sports, and Culture, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the Facilities Manager position at the Tanteen Playing Field, Tanteen, St. George’s, and Progress Park, Telescope, St. Andrew’s, on a contractual basis.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRED FOR APPOINTMENT
• Five (5) CXC/GCE O’Levels
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR APPOINTMENT
• Two (2) years experience managing facilities/grounds
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop a Maintenance Plan for the upkeep of the Playing Field/Park/Hard Court.
2. Manage and oversee all work related to the maintenance of the building and grounds including, but not limited to plumbing, electrical, custodial, and security.
3. Oversee ground operations including mowing, trimming, horticultural work, mulching, etcetera.
4. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance repairs done and repairs needed.
5. Maintain an Inventory of all tools and equipment including a sign-in/out book for users who would loan items.
6. Inspect the property for areas of concern, report all problems and suggest solutions and associated costs.
7. Recommend to the Co-Ordinator of Sports on a bi-annual basis, development work to be done on the facility.
8. Monitor and supervise the work on the Playing Field/Park/Hard Court whenever there is major refurbishment being undertaken.
9. Provide weekly status updates on any pending or current projects.
10. Provide supervision to the Grounds Technician, Secretary, Securities, and Cleaner.
11. Prepare monthly reports for the Ministry on the performance of staff and issues related to the use of the facility.
12. Hold monthly staff meetings with employees.
13. Evaluate employee performance quarterly.
14. Perform any other relevant duties that may be assigned.
SALARY
• Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
