It is with sadness that we advise of the passing of our Founding Partner, former Managing Director and Chairman GEOFFREY ASHLEY THOMPSON.
Our Company shall miss the tenacity, commitment and dedication of this Grenadian Patriot. Along with his Founding Partner he focused on an area of Grenada’s economy which at the time of our founding in 1973, had begun a long slow decline. He identified Agriculture as an important pillar of the economy, and immersed Renwick Thompson Co. Ltd., in the sector. Innovation in cultivars, biological and organic pesticides, irrigation ancillary products made Renwick Thompson Co. an acknowledged leader in the field. Aware of the vulnerability of single sector reliance, he diversified into Hospitality, household products and Services, now considered indispensable to daily Grenadian life. He was also invested in many other areas of Grenada’s economy and development process.
At heart he was a true Grenadian. He never entertained thoughts of migration even in our darkest periods. He loved and lived life to the fullest; touched many hearts through numerous philanthropic deeds, never publicized, but not unnoticed. He served on numerous public organizations with humility and distinction.
The outpouring of expressions of condolences from all sectors of Grenadian Society are a source of comfort to family, colleagues, friends and those who he held dear. His Legacy lives, he will be greatly missed and long remembered.
