As Recruiters we have observed that certain positions are harder to fill due to the shortage of the required skills, knowledge and experience within the local labour market. Consequently, developing professionals in Grenada are encouraged to consider pursuing careers in fields such as Accounts and Audit, Risk & Compliance, Brand Management & Marketing, Product line management (manufacturing industry), and Research and Data Analysis. Employers are also encouraged to adopt a "regional" mindset when seeking to source suitable candidates.

As HR Professionals we should seek to prepare in advance for union negotiations. Our Strategic Plan should also include planning for such negotiations and managing these relationships to avoid the escalation of conflicts.

Without preparation, negotiation is reactive and not proactive. Also aim for an interest based approach when negotiating, rather than a position based approach, which leads to both sides sticking to their position and not being willing to explore alternative options.
