Kes the Band opened at Showbox Presents in the first of many shows to come. From the opening chords of "Rum & Cocaโ€‘Cola" to the final notes of "Savannah Grass," the band set the tone for the weeks ahead: high energy, deep catalog, and the unmistakable warmth of Caribbean music crossing borders.

Seattle, thank you for being the first stop on this particular stretch of the road.

A decade of shaping narratives has taught us this: Caribbean excellence travels. ๐ŸŒŽ

As we enter June and Caribbeanโ€‘American Heritage Month, "CMS 10: A Decade of Cultural Impact" turns its gaze to the diaspora. We honour those who carried island rhythms, flavours, and resilience across oceans and built legacies in new lands. Our work has always been about amplifying that journey. From Brooklyn to Toronto, from Port of Spain to Los Angeles, the stories we champion are woven into the fabric of the Americas.

This month, we celebrate the blueprint. Next decade, we keep building.

From June 22nd, our Managing Director Tenille Clarke heads to the French Riviera. Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity awaits.

She will join The PR Girl Manifesto on the ground, connecting with global creatives, brand strategists, and communicators at the industryโ€™s most influential gathering. If your schedule includes the Palais or the Croisette, drop a DM. She'll meet you there.

More updates to come. For now, pack your curiosity.

On 30 May 1845, the Fatel Razack docked in Trinidad, carrying 225 indentured labourers from India. Their arrival would forever transform the cultural fabric of our twin-island nation.

Indian Arrival Day, observed annually on 30 May, honours the resilience of those who endured a gruelling three-month voyage to an unknown land. They brought not only labour but language, faith, food, music, and festivals that are now inseparable from Trinidad and Tobagoโ€™s identity: from roti and doubles to Divali, Eid, and the rhythmic beat of the tassa drum.

The dhantal, an instrument fashioned from a steel rod and horseshoe on the sugar estates, symbolises their ingenuity. The panchayat system of community governance shaped neighbourhoods. And the names of many of our villages (Fyzabad, Barrackpore, Chandernagore) still echo their origins.

Today, we honour their courage and the rich Indo-Caribbean legacy that continues to thrive.

June is on its way with a celebration of diasporic excellence.

Caribbean-American Heritage Month, established by U.S. Congress in 2005 and proclaimed annually since 2006, honours the millions of Caribbean immigrants whose contributions have shaped the United States: from Sidney Poitier and Harry Belafonte to Audre Lorde and Wyclef, from Rihanna and Cardi B to Nia Long and Richelieu Dennis, from the rhythms of hip-hop to the flavours of soul food.

Throughout June, festivals, flag raisings, and educational workshops will celebrate our vibrant diaspora. At CMS, we see this month as an opportunity to amplify stories of Caribbean excellence beyond the islands, because our influence doesn't stop at our shorelines.

Stay tuned for a month of features, spotlights, and conversations. The diaspora is powerful and our impact runs deep.

turns its lens to Grenada. The feature lands on , covering his V30 tour, his Jab Jab roots, and a pay equity stance that put Caribbean artists on his own payroll.

It traces the singerโ€™s journey from teenage performer mistaken for Trini to a 30โ€‘yearโ€‘old headliner who cut his own fee so others could eat. The piece unpacks the horned stage design, the ancestral weight of Jab Jab, and an upcoming album that refuses genre borders.

Vโ€™ghn tells Ebony: โ€œI made a conscious decision to not focus on myself, but to help others.โ€
