TBILISI, – Newsgeorgia. Economic growth in Georgia was 5.1% in September, the National Statistics Service reported.

GDP growth for nine months since the beginning of the year is 6.8%.

In September, financial and insurance activities, construction, trade, hotel and restaurant business grew. The downward trend is in the manufacturing industry, transport and warehousing, and real estate.

The Georgian government forecasts economic growth for the year at 6.5%. Forecast of the World Bank -5.9%, EBRD and ADB - 6%.

More than 897.6 thousand businesses were registered in Georgia, as of September 24, 2023, according to the materials of the National Public Register Agency, provided at the request of the Parliament of Georgia.

Of the total number of businesses, about 551.5 thousand belong to individual entrepreneurs, while the rest belong to companies with various forms of management.

In large companies in the country, the limited liability company form predominates. In total, 333.9 thousand such companies are registered in Georgia.

And also in the country there are about 3 thousand joint-stock companies, 4.3 thousand cooperatives, 1.9 thousand branches of foreign production, 157 commander companies and 2.9 thousand joint liability companies.

Georgia is among the world leaders in doing business. It is possible to open a business in the country in a day by submitting a minimum amount of documents, while in order to become an individual entrepreneur in the country, all you need is registration in the country and an application. If you open a large company, you will also need a charter in addition to this list of documents.

The National Tourism Administration announced that in the I-III quarter of 2023, the income from tourism exceeded the figure of 2019 and reached a record figure – 3,251,651,900 US dollars, which is +25.9% higher than the results of the same period of 2019 (+668,812,328 USD).

As noted by the National Tourism Administration, compared to 2022, tourism revenues have increased by +734,468,385 (+29.2%) US dollars.

“In Q3 2023, tourism revenue exceeded 2019 and reached US$1,447,121,966. dollars, which is a +28.4% increase compared to the same indicator of 2019, and compared to the third quarter of 2022, tourism revenues have increased by +72,468,664 (+5.3%) US dollars”, reads the information released by the National Tourism Administration.
