🎉 We are so proud to share that our foreign currency donation scheme for Channel Islands Air Search has now raised an incredible £30,000!
What began as a goal to raise £6,000 for fireproof flight suits has grown into something truly remarkable and it's all thanks to your generosity. Every note and coin has made a real difference in keeping our Islands' Eyes in the Sky. 🙏
Got leftover foreign currency? You can donate through our collection boxes in any Post Office branch (excluding Co-op), or request a free post donation envelope. No amount is too small!
Since launching our foreign currency donation scheme in 2019, islanders and local businesses have helped raise an incredible £30,000 for Channel Islands Air Search.
What began as a campaign to fund 30 fireproof flight suits for our crew quickly exceeded its £6,000 target, and thanks to your continued support, the scheme now helps contribute towards our annual operating costs of £300,000.
To date, over 100 currencies have been donated, with foreign notes and coins repatriated to more than 10 countries. Donations have included everything from pre-Euro currency and obsolete notes to old UK coins and pre-decimal money.
We still accept all foreign and obsolete currency donations through our collection boxes across the Islands (including at Alderney, Guernsey and Jersey Airports, as well as the passenger terminals at St Peter Port and St Helier Harbours), at BATIF Bureau De Change / Guernsey Post in Envoy House, St Peter Port, or via our freepost donation envelopes within the Guernsey Bailiwick.
Thank you for helping us remain the Islands’ Eyes in the Sky.
