COVAAAGH President and MD of Gablin Foods Limited, George Adjei-Bekoe was hosted by Ghana Broadcasting Corporation's Edward Nyarko on his Market Avenue show on National Chocolate Day.

They discussed opportunies and challenges in the emerging local SME industry in cocoa and chocolate processing.

Mr. Adjei-Bekoe stressed on the need for deliberate support for the indigenous startups in the form of processing and manufacturing equipment as well as affordable financing for their operations.

Members of COVAAAGH attended COCOBOD-GIPC Inter-Agency Dialogue on Free Zones Taxes on cocoa products.

The association to was able to make officials understand how the litany of fees, charges and taxes on their raw product is affecting the growth of the Ghanaian cocoa value addition industry.

He prompted a joint decision by stakeholders to collaborate to find ways of eliminating the bottlenecks.
