Most workplace tension isn’t really about the issue on the table. It’s about two people handling that issue in completely different ways.

One person wants it confronted and settled today. Another goes quiet and retreats to the facts. A third keeps the peace and absorbs it, even when it costs them. From the outside, it looks like a clash of characters. Usually, it’s just a clash of styles.

That distinction matters, because you handle the two very differently. A character flaw makes you write someone off. A style difference makes you adjust how you approach them, and suddenly the same conversation goes somewhere better.

Look at how each style shows up when the room gets tense. You’ll probably recognise yourself in one, and a colleague you’ve clashed with in another. That recognition is where it stops being personal.

The next time things get tense, ask yourself one question before you react: is this a character problem, or a style difference? The honest answer usually softens the whole thing.
Conflict is often a style clash, not a character flaw.

Ever wonder why a teammate moves at a completely different speed than you? Why one person needs every detail before they act, while another is already three decisions ahead?

It’s not that one of you is right and the other is difficult. You’re just wired differently.

D.I.S.C. gives that difference a name. The Dominant style drives for results. The Influential style moves people. The Steady style holds the team together. The Conscientious style protects the quality. Most of us are a blend, with one or two that lead.

Notice we didn’t hide the blind spots. The one who takes charge in a crisis can lose patience with detail. The one who lives by standards can over-perfect the work. That’s the honest part, and it’s the useful part. When you can see your own pattern clearly, you stop apologising for how you’re built and start working with it.

So, which one sounds like you? Read the four and be honest. Then tell us in the comments. 👇

Not everyone who asks questions is being difficult.

Sometimes, they’re just a C-style making sure everything is accurate.

Precision is their strength. Perfectionism is their challenge.

A silent room doesn’t always mean a lack of ideas.

Sometimes, it’s four different personalities waiting to contribute in four different ways.

Be honest…

Someone sends a “Reply All” email to 200 people with just “Thanks!”

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind? 👀

Your answer may reveal more about your personality style than you realize.

A deadline walks into the room… and suddenly everyone’s personality shows up. 😄

Some take charge.
Some keep morale high.
Some check the details.
Some keep everyone calm.

Same deadline. Different reactions.

Which one sounds most like you? 👇

If you’re a D-Style, you like to say it as it is.
That’s your strength. But sometimes, a quick pause can save a lot of misunderstanding.

Think it through before you speak.

Our founder, Theodora Senaya, was the Guest Speaker at the Marriage & Family Life Conference organised by the Church of Pentecost, New Abossey Okai District.

In her session, she shared how personality styles quietly shape who we are drawn to and how we relate in marriage.

Often, opposites attract. The bold connects with the calm. The expressive with the reflective. It feels natural at first… until misunderstanding sets in.

Understanding temperament helps couples move from friction to connection.
