Dear Employee,
Itās the second quarter already⦠how are your KPI targets and performance conversations going?
āFeeling overwhelmed?
āHave things under control?
āA little unsure about where you stand?
If any of these sound familiar, step right into my office for a quick talk. Sometimes all you need is the right strategy, a clear perspective, and a few smart moves to get back in control.
As a career coach, here are a few pointers to help you navigate performance appraisal and KPI conversations with confidence:
1. KNOW YOUR NUMBERS
Before any discussion, be clear on your targets, progress, wins, and gaps. Facts speak louder than feelings.
2. DOCUMENT YOUR IMPACT
Donāt just say you worked hard..my brother, my sister, SHOW RESULTS!
ā”Revenue supported
ā”Costs reduced
ā”Projects completed
ā”Efficiency improved
ā”Clients retained
ā”Problems solved
3. BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR CHALLENGES
If targets were missed, own it professionally. Then focus on lessons learned and what support is needed to improve performance.
4. SPEAK SOLUTIONS
Managers appreciate employees who identify problems and come with ideas to solve them.
5. ASK GROWTH QUESTIONS
ā”What would top performance look like in my role this quarter?
ā”Which areas should I improve most?
ā”What skills should I build next?
6. ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF
Performance reviews are not only about evaluation, it offers you opportunities to discuss growth, visibility, promotion readiness, and development. Keep that in mind!
Last but definitely NOT the least...
7. STAY CALM AND PROFESSIONAL
