It has been estimated that small enterprises provide employment to approximately 50% to 60% of Ghana labour force and play a significant role in economic growth and job creation. The national board for small scale ind

ustries (NBSSI) is the apex governmental body for the promotion and development of the micro and small enterprises (MSE) sector in Ghana. It was established in 1985 by an act of the parliament of the third republic of Ghana (Act 434 of 1981) because government views the sector as having the potential to contribute substantially to the reduction of high unemployment rate and to the growth of the economy of Ghana
The Youth Connect is to provide support to small businesses in the township of Hohoe. However, many of these business owners struggle to keep their businesses growing. The aim of the Youth Connect Business Consultancy and Entrepreneurship Training is therefore to empower and help these township-based entrepreneurs develop their business ideas, strengthening the local economy and creating jobs for the less privilege youth in the community.

The Youth Connect Business Training Program: Empowering businesses to strengthen local economy and create jobs

The Youth Connect Consultancy and Training Program support business owners by providing three training courses as well as business mentorship and coaching. The courses support business owners to establish, maintain and sustain their businesses. All learning and training is conducted in an organized environment and fieldwork. The training is followed up by visits to the businesses to provide mentorship and coaching.

When the Youth Connect Business Consultancy and Training was established in 2015, it was then called Young Leaders Foundation.It was fully registered under the name Youth Connect last year, in 2017. It provides certified business training as well as mentoring, advisory and counselling services to business owners and entrepreneurs in the Hohoe area.
