CCIFG Holds Annual General Assembly 2024

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ghana (CCIFG) successfully held its Annual General Assembly on December 13th 2024 at the Labadi Beach Hotel. This event not only reviewed the Chamber's achievements for the year but also commemorated its 10th Anniversary, highlighting a decade of fostering strong business relationships between France and Ghana.

The evening began with a Welcome Address from H.E. Jules-Armand Aniambossou, the French Ambassador to Ghana, who acknowledged the crucial role of CCIFG in strengthening bilateral economic ties and promoting collaboration between businesses in both nations.

The Chairman of the CCIFG Board, Mr. Sekou Coulibaly, delivered the Opening Remarks, setting the tone for a productive and reflective assembly.
Daniel Sarpong, Treasurer of CCIFG, presented the Audited Financial Statement for 2023, providing an overview of the Chamber’s financial health and transparency over the past year.

Maxine Reindorf-Partey, the Managing Director of CCIFG, shared the 2024 Activity Reports and Financial Highlights for 2023-2024, detailing the Chamber’s impactful activities, growth milestones, and plans to continue creating value for its members.

In a special moment, the Managing Director also commemorated the Chamber’s 10th Anniversary, a milestone that underscores a decade of dedication, collaboration, and success. Reflecting on this achievement, she expressed gratitude to the CCIFG Board, past leaders, members, and partners for their unwavering support.

Ms. Reindorf-Partey concluded the evening with a Vote of Thanks to the CCIFG Board for 2024, acknowledging their leadership and commitment to advancing the Chamber’s mission. She ended her speech, by emphasizing her optimism for the future, with exciting plans to strengthen member engagement, foster closer ties with influential leaders, and position CCIFG as a key business platform in Ghana.

The Annual General Assembly served as a platform to reflect on CCIFG’s successes, celebrate its history, and lay a strong foundation for the year ahead.

Vivo Energy Ghana inspires the next generation at Accra Girls’ Senior High School through ShePower

Vivo Energy Ghana, the company that distributes and markets Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, in partnership with HR Focus Universe, a human resources agency, has successfully hosted the second edition of its ShePower Campus Mentorship Programme at the Accra Girls’ Senior High School in Accra.

This impactful initiative is part of the company’s broader commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion by empowering young women to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields and aspire to leadership roles.

The ShePower Campus Mentorship Programme is designed to encourage young girls in Senior High Schools to explore courses and careers in STEM, where women are traditionally underrepresented. Through this initiative, Vivo Energy Ghana aims to "Fuel Change" by creating opportunities for mentorship and guidance that will leave a lasting impact on the lives of female students.

Dutch & Co. Ghana Ltd. Commissions 60.95 kWp Rooftop Solar PV System at WAMCO

Dutch & Company, a leader in solar energy solutions, has successfully installed a solar system to reduce carbon emissions and provide stable, clean energy to the administration and processing facility in Sekondi of WAMCO, the West African Mills Company Ltd.

The Ghana-based firm, commonly known as Dutch & Co, was selected by WAMCO to design, engineer, supply, and construct a 60.95 kWp rooftop solar PV solution to follow up on WAMCO’s strive to include green, clean, and sustainable energy in its energy mix and reduce the company's carbon footprint.

The new rooftop solar installation is projected to generate over 92,000 kWh of green, stable, and clean electricity in its first year of operation, and over 2,174,848 kWh throughout its lifetime. Additionally, it will reduce WAMCO’s carbon footprint by 1,380 tons of CO2 emissions.

Last week, KPMG Ghana hosted a webinar on "Navigating Tax Compliance for Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) in Ghana," addressing key tax issues for NPOs. The session was moderated by Ansah Ernestina, FCCA, ICAG,MBA Finance (Manager, KPMG) and featured a presentation by Justina Amartey-kwei (Partner, KPMG Tax) on tax compliance, including the need for NPOs to register with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) for corporate income tax exemption.
Panelists included Dr. Martin Yamborigya (Head, Tax Audit-LTO, GRA) and Benedict Doh (Head of Finance, Ghana Integrity Initiative).

The event concluded with a focus on how KPMG can support NPOs in managing their tax obligations. Justina recommended the 3Cs framework for NPOs: Consult, Check, and Capacity—consulting tax experts, performing regular tax health checks, and enhancing staff training.

The webinar closed with remarks from Michael Boateng (Partner, KPMG Tax) and a vote of thanks from the MC, Akpene Atieku (Manager, KPMG Tax).
