"Do not begin with the technology. Begin with the workforce outcome."

Speaking at the HR Tech Playground, held as part of NITA's National ICT Week, Richard Wogodo, our Technology Consulting team lead challenged organisations to focus on the people outcomes they want to achieve before selecting technology solutions.

Richard also highlighted the growing potential of Agentic AI in HR where he said AI agents can move beyond generating answers to executing multi-step workflows across connected systems, including candidate scheduling, onboarding, employee support and skills matching.

Ultimately, the conversation reinforced that the future of HR is not about adopting more technology, but about applying it with purpose to create better workforce outcomes, stronger employee experiences and more resilient organisations.

The next era of banking is unlikely to be defined solely by lending.
For years, higher interest rates have been a key driver of banking sector profitability. But as the operating environment evolves, competitive advantage will increasingly come from how effectively banks create value beyond their traditional revenue streams.

The institutions that thrive will be those that see the low interest environment not as a challenge to manage, but as an opportunity to reinvent.

With over 90% of businesses operating in the informal sector, broadening the country's tax base is more than enforcement. It’s about creating a system that encourages participation while remaining practical and accessible for taxpayers.

Presenting at the 14th Annual International Tax Conference, Mary Kwarteng Darko, Associate Director in Tax explored how Ghana's Modified Taxation Scheme can support inclusive formalisation, improve compliance and strengthen domestic revenue mobilisation.

Drawing on experiences from jurisdictions including Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania,
Mary also examined implementation challenges and highlighted the important role tax practitioners play in making compliance simpler, building taxpayer confidence and reducing disputes.
