At the Ghana South Africa Business Chamber (GSABC) Quarterly Business and Economic Review, we had the privilege of sharing insights from our 29th Global CEO Survey with an engaged audience of business leaders and decision-makers.

Through a presentation delivered by our Tax Partner, Dzidzedze Fiadjoe and our Strategic Business Lead, Maapa Quansah, we explored how the views of CEOs in Ghana and across Africa compare with those of their global counterparts, highlighting perspectives on CEO confidence, business model reinvention, AI adoption, and appetite for mergers and acquisitions.

What made the session particularly enriching was the active engagement from GSABC members, whose questions, experiences and perspectives brought the data to life and deepened the discussion around the opportunities and challenges facing businesses today.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of George Arhin as the Country Senior Partner (CSP), effective 1 October 2026. In this role, George will provide leadership oversight of PwC's operations in Ghana, with additional responsibility for Liberia and Sierra Leone. He succeeds Vish Ashiagbor, who will retire on 30 June 2027 following a distinguished 26-year career with the firm. Vish will continue to support PwC through the transition until his retirement.

George brings more than 23 years of professional services experience with PwC across Ghana and the UK, having held a range of senior leadership roles. Before his appointment as CSP, he served as Assurance Leader for PwC Ghana and PwC Liberia, with oversight of PwC’s services in several francophone countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to these roles, he served as PwC's Business School Leader, Human Capital Leader for PwC Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, and Energy, Utilities and Resources Industry Leader for PwC Ghana.

At the PwC Africa level, George serves on the PwC Africa Board. Between 2022 and 2025, he chaired the Board’s Clients and Markets Development Committee and currently chairs the Board’s Governance and Partner Affairs Committee. His experience across markets and sectors gives him a broad perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing organisations in the region.

George holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Ghana Business School. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG). His academic and professional credentials complement his extensive experience in finance, accounting, governance, strategy and risk management.

As he assumes this important leadership role, we congratulate George on his appointment and wish him every success in guiding PwC Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone through its next chapter of growth and impact. We are confident that his experience, leadership and commitment to excellence will serve the firm, its people and its clients well in the years ahead.

At the UK-Ghana Trade and Investment Summit 2026, our Tax Leader, Ayesha Bedwei Ibe, moderated a thought-provoking fireside chat on "Ghana as a Gateway to Africa: AfCFTA, Regional Markets and UK-Africa Business Partnerships."

The conversation explored how Ghana's strategic position, combined with the opportunities presented by AfCFTA, can help businesses access new markets, strengthen regional trade and build sustainable cross-border partnerships. Discussions also highlighted the role of collaboration between African and UK businesses in unlocking growth and driving long-term economic value.

As Africa's economic landscape continues to evolve, the dialogue reinforced a clear message: organisations that think beyond individual markets and embrace regional opportunities will be best positioned for the future.
