We are happy to announce partnering with and It's Just Us In The Community (IJUITC) to produce Season 2 of
"It's Just Us Ghana Live!"
This international media exchange honors the rich cultureย andย contributions of both Africansย andย African Americans, creating higher levels of awareness, educationย andย sustainabilityย andย expands our voice, our power,ย andย the reach of our people.
Season 2 of It's Just Us Ghana Live! will raise awareness of the day in the life of street-connected children in situations inย James Townย andย Accra Central and to share opportunities to advocate for themย andย provide information that will both promoteย andย protect them.
On April 9th at 4PM GMT SCEF will co-host a virtual fundraiser featuring the presentation of I Didn't Cry, a one-woman theatrical performance based on the true story about a young girl, Shaila, coming to grips with the untimely death of her older sister, 14-year old Santa.
Santaโs series of indiscreet choices with the wrong man led her down a negative path of teen pregnancy, dropping out of school, drugs, physical and mental abuse, and her ultimately death due to AIDS-related illnesses she contracted from her drug-addicted boyfriend.
We are excited to expand the reach of the voices of children through this partnership.
Statistic by *Save the Children* in 2013-14 on street-connected children says 90.6% of the children faced risks on the street in the form of threats to life, parental abuse, and sexual abuse.
This fundraiser will be used to support children in a street situation, help them have a voice and a promising future. Being part of this virtual fundraiser means giving hope to children on the street and contributing to the change you want to see in the community.
