Customer Development is a process that uses customer feedback and testing to help determine the minimum features of a product or service that is valued most by customers.

Meet the founder of AnS Premium Consult. A graduate from the University Of Ghana, holding a BA degree in Information Studies with Political Science.

Anita Owusu is a solution-oriented person who has always had the passion of helping others demystify problems facing them and in view of this igniting passion chose to develop a business consulting career where she can help people identify solutions to the challenges in starting, growing and sustaining their businesses.

She has worked with the Institute of Certified Business Analysts and Consultants since 2014 and has attained a professional membership status with the institute as a Certified Business Consultant and a Certified Global Business Analyst.

AnS Premium Consult was founded in 2017 and in the quest of gaining deeper knowledge in business consulting, she pursued a Master of Science degree in Business Consulting and Enterprise Risk Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology same year.

Anita later joined the Unlocking Women and Technology Program in iSpace Foundation to shape her startup where she also acquired soft skills in creative design and website development and ended up joining the iSpace team for a year helping others develop their skills.

She is currently a branch head at the Ghana Library Authority, an agency under the Ministry of Education with the mandate to establish, equip and maintain all public libraries in Ghana.

Researching into the market you intend to operate is paramount to making sure your business is in the right direction.

Market Research has a number of purposes; from identifying a new market to launching a new business.

Market research is a very important component of business strategy where information is gathered on a target market, consumers, competitors and the industry as a whole to make informed decisions.

Market research can be quantitative which involves statistical analysis and mathematics or qualitative which is opinion-based but ideally a mixture of both methods is needed to gain a reliable picture of the market intended to operate within.

An entrepreneurial mindset should include design thinking to provide a practical solution to a real-world problem.

The design thinking process includes:
👉 Empathize
Putting yourself in the situation of the people for which a solution or business idea is targeting with the purpose of learning about them from multiple perspectives.

👉 Define problem
Gathering your observations and findings from stakeholders/targeted group now gives a better idea of what problem there is to be solved.

👉Ideate
Ideation involves thinking about the possible solutions to a problem by sharing ideas in order to arrive at the best solution.

👉 Prototype
This is where a mock-up is built to convey the essence of the proposed solution from the previous step being it a product or service. This gives room to examine and take out what need not to be part of the solution to focus on what will be accepted by stakeholders.

👉 Testing
The mock-up is presented to the stakeholders/targeted group for feedback to see if the solution eliminates their problem or if there is a need to go back to the drawing board to repeat ideation.

An innovation or a business idea needs to incorporate design thinking to achieve a good market fit.

This puts the entrepreneur in a position to better understand the needs of customers thereby creating practical solutions that meet those needs (problems) since design thinking is not about what you THINK but rather what you KNOW is the need of the people you want to serve.

Business is about providing a solution to a customer's need being it a product or service and in exchange make gains (money) from the customer. How valuable your solution is determines your gains.

We would like to walk you through some qualities of an Entrepreneur and a highlight of certain things to consider from the word go.

👉Never give up
Entrepreneurship demands alot of can do spirit. You may have an idea that may seem impossible or highly competitive in the market but you don't need to give up on your dream or idea. There's always a space for you in there!

👉Opportunist
An Entrepreneur should strive to be an opportunist in a business sense in order to identify and take advantage of any business opportunity that may come his/her way.

👉 Courageous
The going may get tough, a decision may look risky, the journey may look blurred but you need to be bold at what you do and believe in yourself.

👉 Solidarity
You cannot always work in isolation. You will need people to work with and this comes with the responsibility of working in unity to achieve that common goal. There are those you will also need to help.
