I am honoured and inspired to have been sworn in yesterday as Chairperson of the HR & Organisational Development Committee of the Ghana Tourism Federation at the Accra City Hotel.

The HR & OD Committee is part of nine functional committees that were inaugurated and marks a significant step towards strengthening governance, collaboration, and growth within Ghana’s tourism industry.

I am particularly excited about the rollout of a National Training and Certification Programme for our members — a transformative initiative we are driving in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Tourism Development Company, and the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Emplowment. This programme will be pivotal in professionalising the sector and building a highly skilled workforce.

As a woman in tourism, I am equally proud of the Uplifting Women in Tourism initiative, which speaks to our commitment to inclusivity, empowerment and creating opportunities for women to thrive across the value chain.

The journey ahead is promising, and I look forward to working with all stakeholders to build a resilient, competitive and future-ready tourism industry for Ghana.
