Different people are motivated by different things.
But motivation is a big deal most times. There are external movitations and internal motivations.
But I found out that internal motivation does more magic than external ones which can change anytime.

In other words if you are motivated by an external thing like money , you may soon give up when it doesn't come in as you want. On the other hand if your motivation is from within , there's that force from inside that pushes you to keep going even things don't look so good on the outside.
