I remember my mother telling other women that before they marry, they should first seek economic empowerment. Another time she told her niece that, “no matter how rich your husband is, give birth to only the number of children YOU can look after”. She believes that even a kind and generous man should be the icing, not the cake in a woman’s plate. Having too many children than you can control financially may weaken you psychologically and economically. Those are my additions.
Empowerment is employment - real or potential.
If you desire to empower women, give them sustainable employment or invest in their employments. Support and promote their businesses.
A woman is only empowered when she is economically stable.
