The Chief Justice has determined that no prima facie case has been established in respect of the petitions submitted for the removal of the Chairperson and Deputies of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, as well as the Special Prosecutor.

President John Dramani Mahama has accordingly been formally notified of this determination.

Pursuant to Article 146 of the 1992 Constitution and Section 15 of the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959), the President had earlier referred the petitions to the Chief Justice for the requisite constitutional assessment.

In a letter dated 26 January 2026, the Chief Justice concluded that the petitions do not disclose sufficient grounds to warrant further inquiry.

β€œLet’s make the economy feel less distant and more of an everyday possibility.”

Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang reminds us that economic transformation is not just about policies and figures β€” it is about people.

She emphasizes that building a stronger Ghana requires discipline, trust, and shared responsibility across government, the private sector, labour, civil society, and development partners.

Together, we can turn economic goals into real opportunities for every Ghanaian. πŸ‡¬πŸ‡

β€œOur task now is correction.”

President John Dramani Mahama says Ghana must confront the structural weaknesses in the management of state-owned companies, describing past handling as uneven and at times haphazard.

He noted that the country failed to secure sustainable funding for cocoa, an area that had seen success since the 1990s stressing that strategic reforms are necessary to restore stability and drive long-term economic transformation.
