Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration: ZETL Welcomes KNUST Obuasi Students

Zeal Environmental Technologies Limited (ZETL) was delighted to open its doors to students from the KNUST Obuasi Campus for a comprehensive industry exposure session.

As a pioneer in environmental and industrial waste management for nearly four decades, ZETL used this engagement to demonstrate how modern engineering, technology, and sustainability practices intersect in real-world operations. Students were given a guided tour of ZETL’s core service areas, gaining practical insights into:
✔ Advanced treatment of industrial and environmental waste
✔ Management of drilling and oilfield waste streams
✔ Corrosion control and structural integrity support services
✔ Our integrated QHSE systems and sustainability-driven approach

The visit provided students with a grounded appreciation of how ZETL’s operations contribute to safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible industrial development in Ghana and across West Africa.

ZETL at LCCE 2025 – Driving Sustainability in Ghana’s Upstream Sector

Zeal Environmental Technologies Ltd. (ZETL) was proud to participate in the Local Content and Capacity Exhibition (LCCE) 2025, organized by the Petroleum Commission, Ghana.

The event served as a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among stakeholders across the oil and gas value chain—showcasing local expertise, innovation, and the shared commitment to sustainable growth in Ghana’s energy sector.

At our exhibition booth, the ZETL team engaged with industry players and partners to highlight our comprehensive environmental and waste management solutions that support upstream operations — including oilfield-generated waste treatment, offshore and onshore tank cleaning, chemical handling, oily water recovery, NORMs management, transboundary waste management, and e-waste recycling.

As part of our mandate to uphold international environmental standards, ZETL also operates the Takoradi Port Reception Facility in conformity with IMO MARPOL 73/78, providing compliant waste reception and treatment services to safeguard Ghana’s marine and coastal environment.

We remain dedicated to advancing Ghana’s sustainability goals through safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible practices that protect our environment and create long-term value for industry stakeholders.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This October, we join the global campaign to raise awareness about Breast Cancer, honouring the courage of survivors, supporting those in treatment, and remembering loved ones lost.

ZETL Hosts GPHA Board for a Facility Tour

We were honoured to welcome the Governing Board of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) to Zeal Environmental Technologies Ltd. (ZETL) for a stakeholder familiarisation tour of our state-of-the-art Integrated Waste Management Facility.

The delegation was led by GPHA Board Chairman, Mr. Asiedu Nketia, together with other distinguished board members and the Director General of GPHA, Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye Kulono. Also, present were senior officials from Takoradi Port, headed by Capt. James R. Quayson.

Since 2006, ZETL has been a trusted partner of GPHA, operating the Takoradi Port Reception Facility in full compliance with IMO MARPOL 73/78 regulations, ensuring the safe and environmentally sound reception of marine waste from vessels calling at the port.

At our Integrated Oilfield Waste Management Facility in Nyankrom, Shama District, certified by the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and holding ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 certifications, we provide world class services such as demucking, tank cleaning, incineration, and bio-remediation for companies in Ghana and across the Gulf of Guinea.

Beyond managing oilfield generated waste and marine waste, ZETL also serves diverse industries including mining, healthcare, construction, and other critical sectors.

During the tour, the GPHA delegation, guided by our Board Chairman, Mr. Kwaku Ennin, witnessed first-hand how ZETL safeguards the environment while promoting sustainable industrial growth. They expressed their satisfaction with our advanced processes, strong safety systems, and commitment to international best practices.

Zeal Environmental Technologies Ltd. Strengthens Partnership with Sekondi Naval Base to Advance Marine Environmental Protection:

Zeal Environmental Technologies Ltd. (ZETL) recently hosted a high-powered delegation from the newly appointed leadership of the Sekondi Naval Base, reaffirming its role as a key partner in Ghana’s maritime and environmental ecosystem.

The courtesy visit, led by Commanding Officer Mr. Samuel Ayalazolo and Chief Operations Officer Mr. Samuel Cudjoe, fostered closer collaboration and recognized ZETL’s critical function as the designated operator of the Takoradi Port Reception Facility (PRF) under the MARPOL 73/78 Convention.

As a gesture of partnership, ZETL made a reciprocal visit to the Naval Base and donated air conditioners to enhance working conditions—underscoring its commitment to supporting institutions dedicated to protecting Ghana’s marine environment.

ZETL manages a wide range of vessel-generated waste at Takoradi Port and the Sekondi Naval Base, including oily wastewater, slops and sludges, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, medical waste, and recyclable materials—all in strict compliance with international standards.

Mr. Innocent Asimah, General Manager, led the engagement and emphasized:
