As part of the Adwumawura Program at Agrico Hub Ghana, participants explored how effective procurement management helps MSMEs control costs, maintain quality, and protect their profits.

The session focused on identifying business needs, comparing suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, and securing the right materials and services at the right price and time.

Beyond price, participants examined the importance of supplier reliability, timely delivery, and proper purchasing records. The cheapest option may cost more if quality is poor or deliveries delay production.

For a growing business, procurement is more than buying—it is making informed decisions that keep operations running and customers satisfied.

Participants got into business governance, what it actually means to lead a business, who does what, and why clear roles and responsibilities matter from day one. Decision-making, accountability, separation of roles, the stuff that keeps a business from falling apart when it grows.

Then came the ethics side. Transparency, regulatory compliance, business registration, licenses, and basic tax awareness. The things most young entrepreneurs avoid thinking about until they become a problem. Understanding them early is what separates businesses that last from ones that don't.

Participants got deep into marketing, what it actually means, why it matters, and how to break a market down to find the exact people your business should be speaking to. Understanding customer behaviour isn't just a concept, it's what tells you why people buy, what they're really looking for, and how to show up for them.

Then the conversation moved to the product itself. Features, benefits, branding, packaging, and how to position what you're selling so it stands out from everything else on the shelf. Because in a crowded market, being good isn't enough. You have to be different in a way that matters to the right people.
