*What is 'Future Dating*

future dating refers to crediting a bank account to which the funds will be
made available at a later date.

It is done electronically, with the permission of the account holder.

The account holder simply gives their account information to the depositing party, giving them the right to only deposit money and perform no other transactions.

Individual consumers and corporations use *future dating* to control cash flow by scheduling payments to occur when sufficient funds are present in the paying account.

When a customer *future dates* a payment, he or she gives instructions to his or her bank to send the payment on that future date.

*What is 'Eurobank'*

*eurobank* is a financial institution that accepts foreign currency denominated deposits and makes foreign currency loans.

As such, a *eurobank* does not necessarily have to be located on the continent of *Europe*; it can be anywhere in the world.

For example, a bank located in the Ghana ( Barclays bank ) that extends loans or holds deposits in Pounds sterling is *Eurobank*.

*Eurobank* may deal in foreign currencies while operating in its own country, such as a bank in the Ghana that holds deposits and makes loans Pounds or it may operate as a foreign branch in a country other than its own, dealing in that country’s currency.

*The euro, the British pound sterling, the U.S. dollar and the Japanese yen are the four most widely used Eurocurrencies by Eurobank*

Ghana banking industry*

Bank of Ghana will commence the implementation of the *deposit insurance scheme* next year 2019 said by 'Elsie Awadzi Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana."

*Deposits insurance scheme ( DIS)*

is a measure implemented
to protect *bank depositors, in full or in part, from losses caused by bank's inability to pay its debts when due or the bank becomes Insolvent*.

Deposit insurance scheme is one component of a financial system safety net that *promotes financial stability.*

Commercial Banks are allowed to lend or invest most of the money deposited with them instead of safe-keeping the full amounts *(fractional-reserve banking)*. If many of a bank's borrowers fail to repay their loans when due, it exposes the bank's creditors, including its *depositors*, risk loss.

Because Commercial banks rely on *customer deposits* that can be withdrawn on little or no notice, banks in financial trouble such as *Liquidity risk* are prone to *bank run*, where depositors seek to withdraw funds quickly ahead of a possible insolvency.This issue can cause *Panic on the banks or bank panic* destroying the entire financial sector.

Policy makers ( BoG ) maintain deposit insurance schemes to protect depositors and to give them comfort that their funds are not at risk.

What is franking credit*

*franking credit* is a nominal unit of tax paid by companies using *dividend imputation* ( a corporate tax system ).

*frankingcredit* is a type of tax credit which gives taxes paid on corporate profits by the company back to the shareholder with the dividend payment.

*Franking credits* are found in foreign countries such as Australia, Finland, Italy, Mexico and New Zealand

*Franking credits* are passed on to
shareholders along with dividends.

In any other country ( Ghana ) corporate dividends are *taxed twice*.

*Double taxation* of dividends occurs when both a company and a shareholder pay tax on the same income.

The company pays taxes on profits and subsequently distributes a dividend out of its after-tax profits. Shareholders must then pay tax *( 8% , Ghana )* on the dividend received.

*The double taxation system can cause corporations to prefer debt over equity , makes companies more likely to retain their earnings, and drags down economic growth.*

*Franking credits* are a type of dividend imputation and a way to *reduce or eliminate the double taxation of dividends* . They may also be known as imputation credits.

*Am looking forward to see this corporate tax system in Ghana*

*Franking credit is a great way to promote long-term equity ownership and has led to increases in dividend payouts to investors*.

MTN has past records ..MTN was able to withstand in 2016 *economic turbulence* where most companies were liquidating .…MTN still has more innovative ideas to bring onboard to win the heart Ghanaians for that reason no mattter be the *economic turbulence or recession* they can stil withstand .
