The Gambia Cotton Trail

The Gambia Cotton Trail Hand woven cotton fabric from the Gambia, from seed to finished product. Which are 100% made in The Gambia.

Connecting people, places and industries from far east to the west coast trough fairly traded cotton products, made in The Gambia. The Cotton Trail is an initiative under the GreenBox charity aiming to revive the cotton industry in The Gambia and create products that are made in the country, from seed to finished product. The Cotton Trail connects people and places throughout the country and creat

es opportunities for young people. Farmers located in the far east of the country, cultivate the raw cotton. After there it’s brought to Njau village where a group of women spin our lovely cotton. The trail transports the cotton to the coast, where our weavers spin it. Finally, the product is put together by our tailors, designers, artists, tie and dyers, before it is sold to some lucky owners. Throughout the trail, fair trade is in operation to secure that everyone involved are fairly benefitted.
