We are partnering with the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) to implement an incubation programme for 40 entrepreneurs under the Kanifing Migrant Resilience Hub a transformative initiative designed to empower migrant returnees, young people, women, caregivers, and other programme participants.

The Hub is more than just a facility, it is a gateway to opportunity, resilience, and sustainable livelihoods. Through the programme, participants will have access to:

🔹 Mentorship and business coaching
🔹 Economic empowerment opportunities
🔹 Psychosocial support services
🔹 Pathways to entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods

We were pleased to be part of the opening ceremony of the AFRIMMAK Young Innovators Challenge, where young people were encouraged to turn their ideas into practical solutions and sustainable enterprises.

We are also excited to announce that Startup Incubator Gambia (SIG) is collaborating with Mendez Impact Foundation’s AFRIMMAK program that will roll out the Young Innovators Challenge in selected schools across The Gambia.

Through this collaboration, SIG will support participating students with design thinking, mentoring, coaching and business development support as they develop, test and refine their innovative ideas.

We believe that every great enterprise starts with a problem worth solving and with the right guidance, young people can turn their ideas into solutions that create jobs, opportunities and lasting impact.

At Startup Incubator Gambia, more than 60% of the entrepreneurs we worked with are youth because we believe young people regardless of their background share common aspirations: opportunities to learn, innovate, create businesses, access decent employment, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Today, Startup Incubator Gambia had the privilege of hosting a research team from the World Bank Group as part of their labour market and digital workforce analysis in The Gambia.

The discussion provided an excellent opportunity to share our practical experience from supporting entrepreneurs and startups across the country, while contributing insights on the realities, opportunities, and challenges shaping The Gambia’s digital economy.

At Startup Incubator Gambia, we believe that strong policies are built on evidence. As an organization working directly with entrepreneurs, SMEs, and innovators, we recognize the importance of contributing field-based knowledge that informs research, strengthens policy design, and drives inclusive economic development.

Research plays a vital role in shaping effective policies and investments. We remain committed to collaborating with government, development partners, academia, and the private sector to ensure that evidence and the voices of entrepreneurs help shape the future of entrepreneurship, innovation, and digital transformation in The Gambia.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the World Bank research team for the engaging discussions and for recognizing the value of practitioner perspectives in informing future policy and development initiatives.

We are pleased to have hosted the team from InSIST Global to the Startup Incubator Gambia for a productive engagement focused on strengthening collaboration and advancing The Gambia’s digital innovation ecosystem.

The meeting provided an opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest, including digital transformation, workplace productivity, entrepreneurship support, capacity building, and the adoption of technology-driven solutions that empower startups and SMEs.

We appreciate the InSIST Global team for taking the time to visit us and for the insightful exchange of ideas. We look forward to translating these conversations into impactful initiatives that create opportunities for Gambian entrepreneurs and contribute to the country’s digital and economic transformation.

Startup Incubator Gambia participated in the Validation Workshop for the Made in The Gambia Strategy and Action Plan (2027–2037).

This important initiative aims to strengthen the competitiveness, visibility, and market access of Made in The Gambia products, fostering local enterprise development, job creation, and sustainable economic growth.

The validation workshop forms part of the EU Youth Empowerment Project – Tourism and Creative Industries, which is supporting the development of the revised strategy and action plan.

We are proud to contribute to shaping a strategy that will empower local businesses, enhance the value of Gambian products, and drive inclusive economic development.

We are proud to support the Career Fest organized by the Tertiary and Higher Education Trust Fund - The Gambia through our Pitch Clinic and Entrepreneurship Resource Booth. During the sessions, we introduced aspiring entrepreneurs to key entrepreneurial concepts, market research strategies, business idea validation, and effective pitching techniques to help them strengthen and communicate their ideas with confidence.

It was inspiring to engage with so many students, young innovators and future business leaders eager to create impact through entrepreneurship. We also shared information about the mentorship, capacity building, incubation, and business development opportunities available through Startup Incubator Gambia.
