❇️ The founding of the Chamber was inspired by the urgent commitments in bridging the existential gaps affecting youth private sector participation. As a , Expanding Commerce Sector Opportunities for MSMEs Remains Our Priority.

💹 Taking stock of the contemporary potentials in innovation, labor participation, MSME Participation, economic realities, Regional opportunities, and under-utilized business ecosystem potentials.

♻️ As the participation of MSMEs and Youth in the productive sectors of the economy remains crucial in the Country's socio economic development; a Group of passionate young leaders in entrepreneurship lead the establishment, founding, capacity Strengthening and development of the Chamber over the past 10 Years.

Inline with these commitments, GYCC have significantly supported business sector development, and effective youth participation. Among the lot; but not limited to the following:

✅ Supported and reach out to over 8,000 MSMEs

✅ Held 5 National Trade Fairs, and the Inception of Rural Trade Fairs in the Gambia; introducing a Youth and MSME focused trade fair in the Gambia.

✅ Held High Level Political Forums and Engagements with Trade Sector Organisations, and MDA's in Trade Sector Advocacy

✅ Provide Business Development Services to Youth, Women and PWDs across all the Regions of the Country from 2017 to date.

✅ Implement Sector Specific Projects in Agrifood Systems, Packaging, Migrants Economic Integration, Financial & Digital Literacy, Access To Finance, etc.

✅ Work with Our Partners and Ecosystem Actors in strengthening Enterpreneurship, Innovation, and Business Development.

Entrepreneurship Training Workshop (ETW) was successfully conducted in Panchang on 21st–22nd August 2026, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills to start, manage, and grow sustainable businesses.

Facilitated by Omar Colley, Resource Person, with sessions on:
• Entrepreneurship Mindset & Opportunity Identification
• Marketing Strategies & Customer Service
• Green Business Opportunities & Climate-Smart Enterprises
• Business Planning & Management

✅ Day Two – 22nd August 2026
Facilitated by Yama Samateh focusing on:
• Business Growth & Sustainability
• Financial Literacy & Record-Keeping
• Access to Finance & Business Formalization, facilitated by Yonna Microfinance staff
• Business Plan Development

The training provided participants with valuable tools to transform their ideas into viable and sustainable enterprises, contributing to youth entrepreneurship, job creation, and local economic development.

GYCC Signs MoU with MoTIE: Strengthening Digital Capacities in Entrepreneurship

Represented by Our CEO Jarry Sowe, The Strategic Initiatives, and Activities Embedded will enhance relevant capacities, increase local business opportunities and adjust to contemporary priorities of the local businesses ecosystem.

The Chamber reaffirms its continued enthusiasm in working towards the harmonization, development and integrated service delivery in the enhancement of enterpreneurship capacities.
