The report of the pre-LCOY Regional Consultations (the first of its kind since we started LCOY in The Gambia) is out. This report highlights some of the challenges faced by young people and their communities in the face of climate change. The outcomes will be featured in the National Youth Statement in September 2025. The aim of the initiative is to ensure an all-inclusive youth policy position from The Gambia ahead of COP30 in Belém, Brazil.

Over the years, the LCOY concept has grown beyond imagination, garnering support and recognition from citizens, the government, and international partners. I’m honored and humbled to have pioneered this in our country with the support of an incredible team of young Gambians, particularly Muhammed Hydara and Khaddijatou Ceesay.

Thanks to MECCNAR and its projects for all the support throughout the years, as well as to all other partners.
