From Piraeus to Aegina, the journey ends at the Sanctuary of Aphaia.

After Kolona and the Archaeological Museum, the final stop brings the story to one of the island’s most commanding ancient landscapes — a temple set high above the sea, where architecture, light and horizon still define the experience of the site.

Από τον Πειραιά στην Αίγινα, το ταξίδι ολοκληρώνεται στο Ιερό της Αφαίας.

Μετά την Κολόνα και το Αρχαιολογικό Μουσείο, η τελευταία στάση οδηγεί σε ένα από τα πιο επιβλητικά αρχαία τοπία του νησιού — έναν ναό ψηλά πάνω από τη θάλασσα, όπου η αρχιτεκτονική, το φως και ο ορίζοντας εξακολουθούν να καθορίζουν την εμπειρία του χώρου.

From Early Helladic architecture to sculpture and painted pottery, the finds reveal different layers of life on the ancient site.

Από την Πρωτοελλαδική αρχιτεκτονική έως τη γλυπτική και την αγγειογραφία, τα ευρήματα αποκαλύπτουν διαφορετικά στρώματα ζωής του αρχαίου χώρου.

At Kolona, in Aegina, the remains of the ancient city still stand in direct dialogue with the sea.

The site is best known for the single surviving column that has become its modern landmark, but the landscape preserves a much longer story — of settlement, worship, and the enduring relationship between the city and its harbour.

Κάθε επίσκεψη στην Κολόνα της Αίγινας θυμίζει πως εδώ τα κατάλοιπα της αρχαίας πόλης συνεχίζουν να συνομιλούν με τη θάλασσα.

Ο χώρος είναι γνωστός κυρίως για τη μία σωζόμενη κολόνα που έχει γίνει το σύγχρονο σήμα κατατεθέν του, όμως το τοπίο διατηρεί μια πολύ μεγαλύτερη ιστορία — κατοίκησης, λατρείας και της διαχρονικής σχέσης της πόλης με το λιμάνι της.

Delphi — field documentation (April 2026)

The sanctuary of Apollo at Delphi was not simply a religious center, but a structured landscape of power, memory, and ritual.

From the theater overlooking the valley, to the temple ruins and dedicatory monuments such as the Treasury of the Athenians, the site reveals a carefully constructed dialogue between architecture, terrain, and human presence.

The museum preserves fragments of this world — from the bronze Charioteer to chryselephantine offerings — objects that once existed within a living sacred context.

This is not a reconstruction.
This is what remains.
