📝 In a recent analysis, Vasilis Giannopoulos, Co-Founder of , highlights a critical misconception in maritime procurement and operations: 𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙘 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨.

🔎 The initial purchase price of a represents only a minimal fraction of its true economical impact. A detailed evaluation must account for the equipment's entire lifecycle, which encompasses four hidden cost centers:

▪ 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸𝘀: The escalating liabilities associated with material failure, including severe operational disruptions, injuries and regulatory penalties.
▪ 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: The compounding costs and logistical burdens resulting from inadequate maintenance and shortened product lifespans.
