Τι συμβαίνει όταν μια μετανάστρια εργαζόμενη και η οικογένεια που την προσλαμβάνει δεν έχουν ποτέ μιλήσει ή δει η μία την άλλη, πριν εκείνη φτάσει στο σπίτι τους;

Μια νεαρή γυναίκα ήρθε νόμιμα στην Ελλάδα για να εργαστεί σε μια οικογένεια. Ωστόσο, είδε για πρώτη φορά τον εργοδότη της μόνο αφού έφτασε στη χώρα. Τότε γνώρισε για πρώτη φορά και η οικογένεια τον άνθρωπο που θα φρόντιζε τα παιδιά της. Κανείς δεν είχε κανονίσει πριν έστω μια απλή βιντεοκλήση μεταξύ τους.

Όπως εξηγεί η ιδρύτριά μας, Σμαρώ Μανιάτη, όταν οι δύο πλευρές δεν επικοινωνούν απευθείας, ο μεσάζων ελέγχει τα πάντα. Από τη στιγμή που η εργαζόμενη και η οικογένεια μιλήσουν, αρχίζουν να συγκρίνουν τι πληρώνεται και τι τους υποσχέθηκαν.

Η διαφάνεια είναι συχνά η διαφορά ανάμεσα σε μια τοποθέτηση που αποτυγχάνει και σε μία που έχει διάρκεια. Για την οικογένεια, μια εργαζόμενη που φτάνει χωρίς χρέη και ξέρει τι να περιμένει είναι αυτή που έχει τις περισσότερες πιθανότητες να μείνει.

Οι επιτυχημένες τοποθετήσεις δεν είναι θέμα τύχης. Τις χτίζει κάποιος που λογοδοτεί για ολόκληρη την αλυσίδα, από το χωριό της εργαζόμενης μέχρι το σαλόνι της οικογένειας, και παραμένει προσβάσιμος και ελέγξιμος και από τις δύο πλευρές.

Σήμερα η Athens Home Services ήταν η ελληνική φωνή στο διαδικτυακό σεμινάριο της EFSI, της Ευρωπαϊκής Ομοσπονδίας για τις Υπηρεσίες προς τα Άτομα. Το θέμα ήταν ο ρόλος των γραφείων στην πρόσληψη εργαζομένων από τρίτες χώρες για οικιακές υπηρεσίες.

Μιλήσαμε για κάτι που αφορά κάθε οικογένεια που φέρνει οικιακή βοηθό από το εξωτερικό: ποιοι μπαίνουν στη μέση, ποιος πληρώνει και τι σημαίνει αυτό για το αν η εργαζόμενη θα μείνει.

Μια εργαζόμενη που έρχεται χωρίς χρέη, μένει. Μια εργαζόμενη που έρχεται χρεωμένη, έχει ήδη το ένα πόδι έξω από την πόρτα.
