💧 Water is becoming one of the defining challenges for the future of our cities.

How can we better manage floods, droughts, heatwaves, and water scarcity? How can we transform our urban areas into places that work with water, rather than against it?

These are some of the questions at the heart of the Partnership — a collaborative initiative under the European Urban Initiative and EU Urban Agenda, bringing together 23 partners from across Europe.

CommonSpace is proud to contribute to this collective effort. Together, we have developed a Draft Action Plan with 7 complementary actions covering urban planning frameworks, innovative financing, stepwise digitalisation, knowledge sharing, monitoring, and community engagement — all aimed at supporting European cities in becoming more resilient, sustainable, and water-sensitive.

📣 Μετά τον συμμετοχικό περίπατο και χαρτογράφηση, τις συναντήσεις με την τοπική κοινότητα και τις δράσεις συνσχεδιασμού, ένα ακόμη καινοτόμο εργαλείο ήρθε να εμπλουτίσει το GRID - Green Intelligent Districts: τα εργαστήρια Επαυξημένης και Εικονικής Πραγματικότητας (AR/VR)!

✨ Στα εργαστήρια συμμετείχαν τοπικοί φορείς, κοινότητες, πολίτες, αλλά και μαθητές από τα σχολεία της περιοχής, συμβάλλοντας με τις ιδέες και τις προτάσεις τους στον σχεδιασμό της πιλοτικής περιοχής.

🚀 Στον χώρο της ΠΕΑΝ στην Καλλιθέα πραγματοποιήθηκαν τα εργαστήρια Επαυξημένης & Εικονικής Πραγματικότητας (AR/VR Lab), με τη συμμετοχή μαθητών από το 1ο Γυμνάσιο Μοσχάτου-Ταύρου, το 20ο Δημοτικό Σχολείο Καλλιθέας και το 2ο Γενικό Λύκειο Καλλιθέας.

🥽 Μέσα από την εμπειρία της εικονικής πραγματικότητας, οι μαθητές εξερεύνησαν τους δύο Δήμους και «περπάτησαν» στην πρόταση για την πιλοτική περιοχή.

🌱 Παράλληλα, σχεδίασαν τις δικές τους πράσινες διαδρομές και μοιράστηκαν ιδέες και σκέψεις για το πώς φαντάζονται τη γειτονιά τους στο μέλλον.

🙌 Η συμμετοχή τους έδωσε πολύτιμη έμπνευση και νέα οπτική στον συλλογικό σχεδιασμό του έργου.

📣 Following the participatory walk and participatory mapping, the meetings with the local community, and the co-planning activities, another innovative tool has been added to GRID - Green Intelligent Districts: the Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) workshops!

✨ Local organizations, communities, citizens, and students from nearby schools participated in the workshops, contributing their ideas and suggestions to the design of the pilot area.

🚀 The Augmented & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) Labs were held at the PEAN facility in Kallithea, with the participation of students from the 1st Moschato-Tavros Middle School, the 20th Elementary School of Kallithea, and the 2nd High School of Kallithea.

🥽 Through the virtual reality experience, the students explored the two municipalities and “walked” through the proposal for the pilot area.

🌱 At the same time, they designed their own green routes and shared ideas and thoughts on how they envision their neighborhood in the future.

🙌 Their participation provided valuable inspiration and a new perspective on the project’s collective design.

📣 On May 19, 2026, the Info Day on Green Transition in Greece was successfully held at SAEK Glyfada.

🌿 The event aimed to promote a green mindset and encourage sustainable professional practices among students in the specialties of Beauty Therapy, Pharmacy Assistant Studies, Bakery & Pastry Arts.

🔸 During the event, the INVESTECH Handbook on the Green Transition of VET Organizations was presented to the students, highlighting participatory approaches and community engagement.

📣 Στις 19 Μαΐου 2026, πραγματοποιήθηκε με επιτυχία η Ημέρα ενημέρωσης για την πράσινη μετάβαση στην Ελλάδα στην Πειραματική ΣΑΕΚ Γλυφάδας-Peiramatiki SAEK Glyfadas

🌿 Σκοπός της εκδήλωσης ήταν η προώθηση μιας πράσινης πολιτικής και η ενθάρρυνση βιώσιμων επαγγελματικών πρακτικών μεταξύ των μαθητών και μαθητριών των ειδικοτήτων Αισθητικής, Βοηθών Φαρμακείου, Αρτοποιίας & Ζαχαροπλαστικής.

🔸 Κατά τη διάρκεια της εκδήλωσης, παρουσιάστηκε στους μαθητες/ριες το εγχειρίδιο INVESTECH για την Πράσινη Μετάβαση των Οργανισμών Επαγγελματικής Εκπαίδευσης και Κατάρτισης, με έμφαση στις συμμετοχικές προσεγγίσεις και την εμπλοκή της κοινότητας.

🐟 100 παιδιά από προνήπιο έως δημοτικό έγιναν… ψάρια!

Στο πλαίσιο του έργου , υλοποιήσαμε 4 δράσεις ευαισθητοποίησης σε σχολεία της Αθήνας και του Κερατσινίου.

Μέσα από θεατρικό παιχνίδι, μουσική και συμμετοχικό κολλάζ, τα παιδιά ένιωσαν τι σημαίνει ευζωία για τα εκτρεφόμενα ψάρια:
💧 Καθαρό νερό ↔️ Επαρκής χώρος 🌡️ Κατάλληλη θερμοκρασία 🐠 Κατάλληλη τροφή

Γιατί τα ψάρια δεν μιλάνε και δεν κλαίνε… αλλά νιώθουν. Κι εμείς μπορούμε να τα φροντίσουμε με αγάπη!

🐟 100 children from kindergarten to primary school, became… fish!

As part of the project, we ran 4 awareness sessions in schools in Athens and Keratsini.

Through drama play, music, and participatory collage, the children discovered what fish welfare really means:
💧 Clean water ↔️ Enough space 🌡️ Right temperature 🐠 Proper food

Because fish don't speak and don't cry… but they do feel. And we can care for them with love!

📣On March 27, the event "Empowering VET for the Green Transition: Presentation of the INVESTECH Handbook" took place.

🔸The INVESTECH Handbook was presented as a practical resource for Vocational Education and Training (VET) organisations, fostering dialogue on the green transition through inclusive, participatory, and practice-oriented approaches.

🔸The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue, networking, and the exchange of effective practices.

📣On April 20–21, 2026, the Transnational Workshop on the Green Transition of VET took place in Piraeus, Greece.

✏️The event brought together participants to explore the green transition of Vocational Education and Training (VET) organisations and to exchange ideas, experiences, and best practices.

🎯The workshop provided a valuable opportunity to gain deeper insight into approaches, methods, and techniques for participatory processes in VET, combining both theoretical knowledge and practical application.

🌿 Από το Φεβρουάριο του 2026 στα πλαίσια του προγράμματος GRID έχει ξεκινήσει ένας ενός κύκλος δράσεων συμμετοχής και συν-σχεδιασμού με την τοπική κοινωνία, εκπροσώπους, φορείς και οργανισμούς των Δήμων Καλλιθέας και Μοσχάτου-Ταύρου.

🚶🏻‍♂️🚶‍♀️ Το Φεβρουάριο πραγματοποιήθηκαν τα συμμετοχικά εργαστήρια Walk & Talk, στα οποία έγινε ένας περίπατος διερεύνησης της γειτονιάς και της πιλοτικής περιοχής, με στόχο την καταγραφή εμπειριών, αναγκών και προκλήσεων που σχετίζονται με την προσβασιμότητα και τη χρήση του δημόσιου χώρου, καθώς και με τη θερμική δυσφορία κατά τους θερινούς μήνες.

✏️🖍️Τον Μάρτιο πραγματοποιήθηκαν εργαστήρια συν-σχεδιασμού φέρνοντας κοντά κατοίκους, φορείς και επαγγελματίες με κοινό στόχο: τη δημιουργία βιώσιμων και πράσινων χώρων και διαδρομών στους Δήμους.

🖥️🕹️Από τον Απρίλιο πραγματοποιούνται εργαστήρια επαυξημένης (AR) και εικονικής πραγματικότητας (VR), στα οποία τοπικοί φορείς, σχολεία και τοπικές κοινότητες έχουν τη δυνατότητα να δουν πώς διαμορφώνονται οι περιοχές παρέμβασης και το ευρύτερο Masterplan και να συμβάλλουν ενεργά στη διαδικασία συν-σχεδιασμού.

🌿 Since February 2026, the GRID program has launched a series of participatory and co-design initiatives involving the local community, representatives, and organizations from the municipalities of Kallithea and Moschato-Tavros.

🚶🏻‍♂️🚶‍♀️ In February, the participatory Walk & Talk workshops took place, featuring an exploratory walk through the neighborhood and the pilot areas, with the aim of documenting experiences, needs, and challenges related to accessibility and the use of public space, as well as thermal discomfort during the summer months.

✏️🖍️In March, co-design workshops were held, bringing together residents, organizations and professionals with a common goal: the creation of sustainable, green spaces and routes in the municipalities.

🖥️🖲️ Since April, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) workshops have been taking place where community, schools and organizations can see and comment the design of the intervation areas.
