Right Data, Wrong Decision | Why an EPD needs context to tell the truth

An Environmental Product Declaration can be accurate, third-party verified and fully aligned with EN 15804, and still point to the wrong choice.

The number is rarely the problem. The reading usually is. Typical mistakes include comparing products with different declared units, looking only at the A1–A3 production stage, and placing EPDs built on different Product Category Rules side by side.

The recast is bringing life-cycle disclosure into the mainstream, so this is no longer a technical detail. It is a question of:
→ : data that holds up only when its scope and limits are clear
→ : materials judged over the building’s full life
→ -proofing: assets ready for the carbon thresholds still to come
→ : decisions that protect long-term asset value

BREEAM In-Use for EA33 – Strengthening Premia's Portfolio Decarbonization in Thessaloniki

The office asset at 33 Ethnikis Antistaseos str. in Kalamaria, , owned by Premia Properties, has achieved In-Use certification at Good level.

The certification reflects both the building's operational performance and the management practices behind it, assessed as the asset actually runs rather than as it was designed. For a standing investment, that distinction is what makes the result meaningful: it captures whether performance is being sustained over the holding period, not just whether it was achieved once.

A Landmark Reborn | The Ilisian sets a new standard for sustainable hospitality in Athens
