Following our August meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Harry Theoharis preparations are advancing for the Trade & Business Mission to Indonesia, taking place in Jakarta from 12 - 18 October 2026.

Organized by the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC), in partnership with the Embassy of Greece in Indonesia and the Embassy of The Republic of Indonesia in Athens and in coordination with EnterpriseGreece the initiative brings together key institutional and business stakeholders from both countries.

The Greek delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Harry Theoharis, accompanied by Mr. Dimitris Skalkos, Secretary General for International Economic Affairs at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of Enterprise Greece.

All partners are contributing to a focused programme that brings together the institutional and business dimensions of Greece - Indonesia economic and trade relations, with a view to creating meaningful opportunities for dialogue, business engagement and cooperation.

As preparations enter their final stage, all partners remain closely engaged towards a shared objective: a substantive and successful outcome that strengthens economic ties and lays the foundations for lasting, mutually beneficial cooperation between the Greek and Indonesian business communities.

Following a high-level strategic meeting between Mr. Dimitris Skalkos Secretary General for International Economic Affairs at the of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, HABC’s Chairman Mr. Nick Stasinopoulos and Director of Operations & Compliance Mrs. Vicky Arvanitakis the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council is laying the groundwork for the 2026 Trade & Business Mission to Indonesia this coming October (12-18 OCT).

Timed alongside Trade Expo Indonesia, this initiative aims to deepen bilateral commercial relations, unlock targeted investment opportunities, and reinforce Greece’s role as a strategic partner to the region.

In close collaboration with the of the Republic of Indonesia, we are building on the momentum of economic diplomacy and aligning with national strategic priorities to drive cross-border growth across a diverse range of high-potential industries.

Delegates will have the chance to access Southeast Asia’s premier trade platform at Trade Expo Indonesia to connect with global supply chains. Beyond participation in the expo, the mission will encompass targeted discussions with Indonesian governmental bodies, sovereign wealth infrastructure funds, Indonesian National Shipowners' Association (INSA) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

As economic integration between Europe and Southeast Asia accelerates, remains focused on turning institutional dialogue into concrete, long-term commercial partnerships.

𝗛𝗔𝗕𝗖 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘 & 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 🇬🇷🇮🇩

A productive meeting at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Greece, marking the beginning of our preparations for the 2026 Trade & Business Mission to Indonesia, taking place 12-18 October.

It was a pleasure to meet with H.E. Dr. Bebeb Djundjunan, Ambassador of Indonesia to Greece, together with Kamal Mubarak Makalam, Economic Affairs - Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Athens, to discuss the initial framework and priorities for the upcoming mission.

Representing the Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council (HABC), Mr. Nick Stasinopoulos, Chairman, and Vicky Arvanitaki, Director of Operations & Compliance, had the opportunity to exchange views with the Embassy team and begin shaping the next steps for what will be a meaningful and impactful business mission.

We look forward to continuing this collaboration and working closely with the Embassy, our institutional partners and the business community to further strengthen Greece - Indonesia business and economic ties.

The Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council and the Deree - The American College of Greece have entered into a partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a framework for institutional and educational cooperation.

The signing ceremony took place on June 22, 2026, at the Deree Faculty Lounge. The agreement was signed by Mrs. Claudia Carydis, Vice President of Public Affairs at ACG, and Mr. Nick Stasinopoulos President of HABC, in the presence of representatives of foreign diplomatic missions-members of the ASEAN network.

The MoU provides a basis for exploring future collaborative activities, including conferences, executive forums, educational and cultural programs, joint visits to ASEAN countries interested in sending students to study at The American College of Greece, and networking events involving universities, businesses and ASEAN embassies.

Both organizations look forward to developing this collaboration through meaningful engagement and mutually beneficial initiatives!

From alignment to action.

A high-level exchange with the ASEAN Committee in Athens (ACAT), chaired by H.E. Giovanni Palec (Ambassador of the Philippines), alongside H.E. Dr. Bebeb A.K. Nugraha Djundjunan (Ambassador of Indonesia), H.E. Pham Thi Thu Huong (Ambassador of Viet Nam), and H.E. Sathana Kashemsanta Na Ayudhya (Ambassador of Thailand), with the participation of Nick Stasinopoulos (Chairman, Hellenic-ASEAN Business Council), made one thing clear:

Greece–ASEAN cooperation is ready for its next phase.

For 2026, HABC and the ASEAN Embassies in Athens are activating a more coordinated model — with dedicated Liaison Officers to accelerate ex*****on and turn dialogue into results.
