Grabbed some extra photos of Lady Em in yesterday’s late-season sunshine. She’s our 1990 Maxi 35 and newest listing. A centre cockpit with a proper aft cabin, a reconditioned Volvo Penta fitted in 2018, new sails and custom cushions throughout, all for under £20k. Lying in Kingswear.

I could talk about Katinka for hours (if you hadn’t already noticed). Once in a while a boat comes along that you feel a real connection to, and an appreciation for everything she has achieved and all the care that has gone into her.
I was tempted to edit and enhance this photo, which her owners kindly provided, but I’ve left it exactly as it is. It was taken long before digital cameras and editing software, so nothing here has been filtered, sharpened or touched up.
What you’re looking at is Katinka as she really is: a strong, capable Bowman 40 cutter, designed by Chuck Paine, with a commanding presence on the open ocean and doing exactly what she was built for. Ten Atlantic crossings later, that hasn’t changed. Get in touch if you’d like to hear more about her. I’m always happy to talk Katinka 🙂

It was refreshing to see this quirky-looking Bavaria at the Southampton Boat Show, surrounded by shiny new six-figure yachts. She really stood out and sparked curiosity among visitors on the pontoons.

Owners Chris and Kelly, along with their two young children, are preparing for a life at sea—seeking adventure and making memories along the way.

Of course, real-life sailing isn’t all dolphins and daiquiris! We love their humble approach as they learn to sail, restore their boat and dare to step beyond their comfort zone.

Always good to see the shiny new boats at Southampton Boat Show, but at True North Yachts, we love boats with a story.

Great to catch up with the Clipper Race team and see their impressive 70ft and 72ft round-the-world yachts — built for training, adventure and some serious ocean miles.
