Sotiris Sorogas, Acrylic and charcoal on canvas | 35 × 35 cm.

With a restrained palette and an almost archaeological sensitivity, Sorogas transforms fragments of form and surface into a quiet meditation on time, memory, and materiality. Subtle traces of charcoal and earthy tonalities create a composition where absence becomes as significant as presence.

Kostas Andreou, Titre Femme, 1993, Oil on canvas | 57 × 78 cm.

Through fragmented geometry, expressive colour, and a powerful sense of movement, Andreou approaches the female figure beyond conventional representation. Form is broken down and reconstructed into a composition where abstraction and figuration coexist, reflecting the artist’s distinctive visual language.

Giorgos Lappas, Metal, plastic, LED, plaster, metal base | 195 × 45 cm.

The work of Giorgos Lappas occupies a singular place in contemporary Greek sculpture, where the human figure becomes a vessel for memory, movement, and identity. Through fragmented forms, industrial materials, and a powerful sense of scale, Lappas explored the relationship between the body and the spaces it inhabits, creating works that are at once intimate and monumental.

Balancing conceptual depth with striking visual presence, his sculptures transcend representation, inviting viewers to reflect on displacement, transformation, and the traces we leave behind. Recognised internationally, Lappas’ work is held in major museum and private collections, establishing him as one of the defining voices of modern Greek sculpture.

The work of Panayiotis Tetsis (1925–2016) holds a defining place in post-war Greek art. Born on Hydra and educated at the Athens School of Fine Arts before continuing his studies in Paris, Tetsis developed a deeply personal figurative language shaped by observation, light, colour, and the physical presence of the Greek landscape.

A painter, printmaker, teacher, and academician, he remained committed to the visible world throughout his career, transforming landscapes, interiors, everyday scenes, and still lifes through expressive gesture and a powerful sense of composition. His work was presented internationally and honoured with major retrospectives at the National Gallery of Greece, establishing him as one of the most influential figures of modern Greek painting.

Panayiotis Tetsis, Sifnos, Top View, Indian ink on paper | 100 × 70 cm.

In Sifnos, Top View, the island landscape is reduced to an intense monochromatic structure. Sweeping passages of ink, architectural fragments, and rhythmic lines transform the familiar Cycladic topography into a composition driven by movement, contrast, and perspective.

The work has been documented in publications dedicated to Tetsis’ oeuvre and is also included in the ISET digital archive.
