I love the colours on this postcard with my interpretation of the Malia Pendant (often called the “Bees of Malia”), which is an exquisite piece of Minoan jewellery made of solid gold from Crete. It depicts two symmetrically arranged bees holding a honeycomb disc and I think the shiny gold finish gives it the sparkle it deserves!

I have a new print and it’s a new favourite of mine!
I am also very happy to say that each purchase of ‘Always Happy To Meet The Locals’ donates €1 to Let’s Be S.M.A.R.T. Animal Rescue — a wonderful Athens-based charity rescuing, sterilising, sheltering and rehoming cats and dogs worldwide.

This is a matter close to my heart, and one I have ongoing first-hand exerience of myself. Having lived in Greece for over 30 years, I can honestly say that the stray cat dilemma and the suffering of cats in Greece, is very much an ongoing issue.

But Let’s Be S.M.A.R.T. is changing that — one animal at a time. From hands-on rescue and TNR programmes to community education, this small but mighty team makes a genuine difference every single day. With nearly 19 years of experience, 1,000+ adoptions and 4,750+ sterilisations, they’re one of the most dedicated animal welfare organisations in the country.

The A4 print is packaged with a sturdy backing card and the A3 is packaged in a sturdy but compact Kraft tube to ensure safe travels.

If a cat has to live on the street, the best gift it can receive is sterilisation.

The sterilisation of stray cats (and dogs) has become noticeably more accepted in Greece. People are accepting more and more that this is a sensible and humane way to help curb the endless litters of kittens.

A little insight to everyday life in a few cat groups that I take care of with the help of others here in Kavala. These kittens were abandoned just 2 weeks ago. No mother and vulnerable.

2 sterilised females from a group of 20 or so cats. The conditions are not the best, but they are all fed and watered daily, have a place for shelter and are now all sterilised. So, in fact, they are luckier than many!
