Maran Tankers Management ("MTM") is the Oil Tanker Shipping unit of the Angelicoussis Shipping Group Limited ("ASGL").

We are happy to welcome our second Dual Fuel VLCC, Maria A. Angelicoussis, to our Maran Tankers Management fleet.

The vessel was delivered on 15 February 2023 by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and was named after the wife of our Group’s founder, Antonis I. Angelicoussis

She has a cargo capacity of 320,500 DWT and was designed to be both highly efficient and environmentally friendly - in fact she is the second in the series of the most environmentally friendly low-emission VLCCs on the water today!

We wish her fair winds and following seas and thank the entire MTM team onboard and ashore for the successful design, construction, and delivery of this vessel! Kales Thalasses – Kalotaxeido!

We are happy to welcome our first Dual Fuel VLCC, Antonis I. Angelicoussis, to our Maran Tankers Management fleet.
The vessel was delivered on 3 January 2023 by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and was named in honour of the founder of our Group, Antonis I. Angelicoussis (1918-1989).

She has a cargo capacity of 320,500 DWT and was designed to be both highly efficient and environmentally friendly - in fact she will be the most environmentally friendly low-emission VLCC on the water today!

We wish her fair winds and following seas and thank the entire MTM team onboard and ashore for the successful design, construction and delivery of this vessel!

Two groups of employees from various departments of Angelicoussis Group had the opportunity to visit Maran Plato while the vessel was in Piraeus. On the first visit, they were given a tour by Captain Konstantinos Lamprou (MTM Marine Supt.) and 2nd Officer Ioannis Kotsovos, and they also met and talked with Chief Officer-Captain Nanos Christos. On the second visit, MTM Marine Supt. Captain Emmanouil Rouvellas gave the tour. We would like to thank everyone, including Captain Stefanidis, the crew, and the Maran Tankers Management Inc. team for this memorable experience!

MARAN HERMIONE participation in a Rescue Operation
On July 26, our Maran Hermione while was sailing south of Sicily, had been requested by the Italian Coast Guard to participate in the rescue operation of about 100 immigrants who were crowded on a sailing boat.
Maran Hermione was appointed as “scene commander” by the Italian RCC. The Rescue operation was successfully completed without any loss; an Italian Coast Guard vessel transferred the immigrants to the land.
We thank the Master and the crew of Maran Hermione, as well as our ERT here in the office for their immediate actions and professional support.

On 1 July 2022, Maran Mars joined the fleet. She is the first of two second hand purchases completed as part of the fleet renewal programme. Both ships are DSME VLCCs from 2020 with a specification very similar to the latest A Class vessels.

Maran Lynx, one of three sister vessels acquired in 2020, just completed her drydocking and retrofit upgrades in China. To reduce CO2 emissions, the vessel was fully blasted and repainted with a high-quality antifouling product, a Mewis Duct to improve propeller in-flow and a propeller boss fin to reduce energy waste at the propeller outflow were all fitted. To further reduce the environmental impact of the vessel a Scrubber and a Ballast Water Treatment Systems were also fitted.
We continue to invest in our fleet to improve their environmental performance and ensure a greener future for all our stakeholders.

We have the pleasure of celebrating a big milestone: On 13th August 2021, the Maran Antiope was delivered to her new Owners by DSME shipyard in Korea. It was the last delivery in a series of 19 very efficient Eco VLCCs delivered between 2016 and 2021. Even by today’s stringent environmental standards, the vessels' design has been shown to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly. The next new building deliveries for Maran Tankers are due in 2023 – with the introduction of 4 dual fuel VLCCs into the Maran fleet. Antiope sailed in a rainstorm, we wish her calm seas and fair winds in the future.
