This groundbreaking initiative not only addresses critical challenges in Mongolia’s tanning sector but also showcases our commitment to innovation and sustainability.

👞 💼 The recently completed EU SWITCH-Asia Programme Sustainable Yak Leather project tackled the decline of Mongolia’s tanning sector by reducing waste and improving value capture from hides and skins. By focusing on yak hides from four provinces, it demonstrated that 🌱 vegetable tanning can deliver sustainable, traceable, and higher-value leather, while strengthening skills, production processes, and export readiness across the value chain.
