The second seminar of the VRinVET International Online Seminar Series will focus on the current landscape, key challenges and future perspectives of Virtual Reality in Algerian vocational education.

The session will bring together experts to explore how immersive technologies can support innovation in VET and create new opportunities for learners, educators and training providers.

The PandORA project is officially underway, advancing electrified CO₂ capture solutions for hard-to-abate industries such as cement production and power generation.

The latest project updates introduce PandORA’s two main innovation pillars: electrified post-combustion capture and electrified oxyfuel calciner concepts, alongside supporting technologies designed to improve efficiency, environmental performance and future market readiness.

🌍 SMARTMED | From Testbeds in Greece to the Next Pilot Phase in Jordan

Following the testbed activities carried out in Larissa and Kozani, the SMARTMED project is now preparing for the next stage of piloting in Jordan.

The upcoming activities will build on the experience and feedback gathered during the Greek testbeds, helping the consortium further refine and validate the project’s smart digital solutions in a new local context.

This next phase is an important step in SMARTMED’s wider effort to support the digital transformation of Mediterranean cities through practical, citizen-centred solutions that improve services, strengthen local ecosystems and encourage collaboration across regions.

🌿 SchoolMedDiet Is Officially Underway

On 8–9 July 2026, the SchoolMedDiet consortium gathered in Kozani, Greece, for the project’s official kick-off meeting, launching a three-year journey to improve school food environments across the Mediterranean.

Bringing together 10 partners from Greece, France, Malta, Morocco and Tunisia, the meeting combined project planning with practical insights on sustainable nutrition, local food systems and environmental education.

The next phase will focus on establishing four national Living Labs and developing AI- and VR-powered educational tools that bring the Mediterranean Diet closer to everyday school life.

🏛️ Discover the Stories Behind the Shared Heritage of the Balkans

History is not only found in textbooks. It lives in monuments, photographs, songs, personal memories and the stories of local communities.

Through its ongoing educational history series, the Guerre project brings forward lesser-known stories connected to the First World War across Bulgaria, Greece, North Macedonia and Serbia. From local memorials and historical sites to personal stories shaped by life during wartime, each post offers a different perspective on the region’s shared past.

The initiative is part of GUERRE’s wider effort to preserve the cultural and linguistic heritage of the First World War and make it more accessible through research, storytelling and the development of a digital museum. By highlighting both common experiences and cultural diversity, the project contributes to a deeper understanding of the shared history of the Balkans and its place within Europe.
