¨Ηταν μεγάλη μας τιμή η πρόσκληση στην Σύνοδο των Πρυτάνεων που πραγματοποιήθηκε στο Πανεπιστήμιο Πατρών τον Ιούλιο στην οποία ο Κος Λεωνίδας Αλεξόπουλος, Καθηγητής ΕΜΠ, παρουσίασε σε ειδική Συνεδρία σε θέματα Επιχειρηματικότητας & Καινοτομίας την ιστορία της Προτάβιο: "Από την έρευνα στην παραγωγή διαγνωστικών προϊόντων: Η ιστορία της Protavio και η γνώση που αποκτήθηκε στο ταξίδι από την έρευνα στο επιχειρείν". We are happy to announce that Protavio is now officially a certified service provider for the Olink Explore platform! Protavio recently completed the Olink Explore concordance test, where we compared NPX readouts from the same samples between Protavio's lab and Olink Uppsala, achieving excellent results. The test results showed a low coefficient of variation (CV) of 12% and a median Pearson correlation of 0.98 across assays between labs. Additionally, the R² value of 0.95 between all matched readouts further confirms the robustness and reliability of our testing processes. This milestone highlights our dedication to providing biomarker discovery and validation services of the highest quality. Last week, the , organized by the Hellenic Cancer Federation | ELLOK, provided a holistic view of our battle with cancer discussing vital topics such as policy, research, and funding strategies. The forum highlighted how screening programs are crucial in reducing the cancer burden in our society by detecting cancer early when it is most treatable, providing a significant benefit at a minimal cost. Our Colon Cancer Screening DIOPTRA Project is an EU-funded initiative that aims to revolutionize screening. In this project, Protavio's role is to identify blood-based protein biomarkers with superior accuracy, enabling the development of screening assays to be used as a first line of defense, followed by confirmatory colonoscopy. If successful, this could transform colon cancer early detection and save lives.

Με απλά λόγια, τι είναι αυτό που μας ενθουσιάζει στην δουλειά μας; Ο συνεργάτης μας, Καθηγητής Γαστρεντερολογίας Ιωάννης Παπανικολάου εμφανίστηκε πρόσφατα στην εκπομπή του OPEN και συζήτησε την ανάπτυξη ενός νέου τεστ διάγνωσης καρκίνου του παχέος εντέρου μέσω της κοινοπραξίας του DIOPTRA Project. Το DIOPTRA είναι ένα πρωτοποριακό έργο του προγράμματος Horizon Europe που εστιάζει στην αποστολή κατά του καρκίνου, με ιδιαίτερο στόχο τον προσυμπτωματικό έλεγχο για τον καρκίνο του παχέος εντέρου (CRC) μέσω καινοτόμων μεθόδων εκτίμησης κινδύνου και εργαλείων έγκαιρης διάγνωσης. Στην πρώτη γραμμή αυτής της προσπάθειας βρίσκεται η δέσμευση της Protavio να αξιοποιήσουμε την εξειδίκευση μας στην ανάπτυξη πρωτεϊνικών βιοδεικτών. Το όραμά μας είναι ξεκάθαρο και φιλόδοξο: να ανακαλύψουμε και να δημιουργήσουμε ένα in vitro διαγνωστικό (IVD) πάνελ πρωτεϊνικών βιοδεικτών στο αίμα που θα λειτουργεί ως αξιόπιστο εργαλείο προσυμπτωματικού ελέγχου για τον καρκίνο του παχέος εντέρου. Αυτή η εξέταση αίματος θα διαδραματίσει καθοριστικό ρόλο στον εντοπισμό της νόσου στα αρχικά της στάδια, δυνητικά σώζοντας αμέτρητες ζωές. Αυτή η τηλεοπτική εμφάνιση υπογραμμίζει το σημαντικό αντίκτυπο του έργου DIOPTRA, αλλά και τις δυνατότητες της συνεργασίας μας και των τεχνολογιών που αναπτύσσουμε από κοινού.
